Thats 100 percent correct. NYS doesnt give a shit about under the hood. If it doesnt have the CA option on the paperwork it can not be registered in NYS untill it is considered a used truck. Funny how California starts this crap and doesnt even follow it.

They do follow it. If it has a CARB sticker under the hood, they will register the car/truck. They don't give a shit what the paperwork says as long as the car is smog legal. It's NYS that is ******, not CA.

California sucks. Why have a Ca option and not need it in california. California is the problem for starting this ********.

Any recommendations on San Diego registration? Do they have a service that does out of state purchase smog, weigh, and pay DMV tax? What would tax be on a $69,275 MSRP? I can’t wait until it is built and the drive back from Vegas.

Tax depends on your county - SD is 7.75% so, $5368.81 in tax and figure $900 ish in registration fees. You don't need a service - get the truck smogged anywhere in CA. Find a place to weigh your truck, not hard to find. Go to AAA or DMV and register the truck. Done.

Went by a local dealer and 5 on the lot in Riverside County ,California 2 days ago. Estimated market value on the sticker +20K. WTF? Then the salesman had the balls to say that they do a complete inspection of the truck to make sure it meets their quality!

FFFF that dealer. When I am ready it will be a Scab as a Screw will not fit in my garage.

That's really weird as the under hood sticker stays on the vehicle for it's life (unless you purposely remove it) and the window sticker is either filed away or discarded. I save mine, but likely most folks don't...and I thought CA was strange...
