It's a momentary switch, it toggles on and off, do you can't just short the contacts...

Yes you can and anyone with even minimal google skills can find out how. Amazing how many people sit around bitching and finding problems rather than finding solutions.

Hard to understand why folks are getting so worked up over a feature like this or having to push a button. Jumper the damned button so it is always closed and you're done.

I actually look forward to the gas savings it will provide.

Once you have owned vehicles with this feature you'll understand. It's not a matter of getting worked up, it's just something you shake your head at...someone at Ford made a conscious choice to force the issue versus letting us have the freedom to decide.

Anyone else running regular gas? The Raptor supplement says 87 octane is fine so my last tank I ran Shell 87, I haven't noticed any power difference and it saved me $25.

Run 87 for a month then put a tank of 9X in and I bet you will notice the difference.

Blame the EPA and the soon to be Zero administration. Zero did his best to pull that land mine EPA ruling ahead of normal schedule and doubled down on stupid, as usual, when all the evidence said otherwise.

It's one of those things that I just have a hard time getting over..my gut tells me that it's no good for the starter or engine to be starting and stopping over and over...(in stop n go rush hour traffic it's particularly annoying because it can start and stop like 20 times over 30 feet) but I am sure the engineers have accounted for that being that so many vehicles employ this feature. I guess I'll just get used to (if at some point the universe grants me a raptor) starting it up, turning this off and engaging sport mode every time. I can't wait to get this truck!!

The last time I killed a starter was ... 2004, give or take, in a 2nd ( or 3rd or 4th, who knows really ) ’92 Exploder. it had either 175 or 275k miles on it and I’m not too sure it wasn’t 275. The Europeans have been testing this out for years now and like anything else if you give it a chance, it’s not as hateful as you might think. I drove through Cork in a car with it and a coworker drove me through Paris (rush hour) in his BMW diesel with the auto start stop, including through the Arc de Triomphe roundabout. It didn’t phase him in the slightest.

I’ll give it a try, some day... if I ever land a new Raptor to try it out and then complain about it :)
