But that wouldn’t cause the motor to die randomly at 2,000 RPMS at maybe 15% throttle then not start for over an hour?

yes it would. If the cams are stuck in a position ( or the variability is limited) due to a physical failure, the cam's adjustability could be "stuck" in a position that is only good for RPMs that are above 2000. It might not start if it has been over-fueled and the time duration may be the time it takes for the fuel to evaporate.

The rich condition could also cause the stall.

If the pump is screwed up, it could have a similar effect.

The codes will tell you what the scoop is.

PLEASE keep us updated. I just had the cam phasers replaced on my 17 Screw at 19k miles. All easy driving. Although, I go to Raptor Assault in a couple weeks.
What problems were you having that made you take it into ford? Will do!
