What was that deicer in the spray bottle you had last year? I'd like to get some in advance this year. Lol...

Yukon Joe :baby: :baby:

I used Prestone De-Icer Windshield washer fluid and Prestone AS240 Windshield Washer Fluid Booster De-Icer Additive. The booster helps with those of us that run down south with fluids that are rated for the temps.

Also had a spray bottle of the Prestone De Icer stuff that says it helps at night with making it easier to get ice snow off, but we never got a serious amount of snow or ice so not sure how well that worked.

Be careful with the "de-icer" . I sprayed it on rear camera and it took the chrome finish off the bezel... Worked in reservoir . Check out label to work beyond freezing Google Image Result for http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-y2rJ3NLVYoQ/TozxTe-cb6I/AAAAAAAAA0M/R93wLFjQTzU/s1600/evelyn-davis-backstabbing-barbie.jpg and n reservoir, just get the -15 stuff labeled. Beware: spray @ your own risk #longlivechrome

Negative 15 does not cut it in the UP. With wind chill the lines freeze. Ask how many guys with winter fluid had lines freeze up when driving at high speed. When stopped idling the engine heat normally will help melt the lines to get it going again.

I use this
Prestone® De-Icer Windshield Washer Fluid | Prestone® Which is rated -27 (High methanol content) and then add in the booster as well which has more alcohol (And in a pinch a bottle of rubbing alcohol can be used as well).

I ran the Rain X 2 in one fluid. kind of a orange fluid. no freeze up 2 years in a row.

That is good stuff. Its what I ran when I lived up in Denver. Its also a Deicer formula rated to -25.

(Those of us down south need to watch out when we have vehicles serviced as many stations will top off your fluids with water or summer windshield fluid) Had mine last year at the dealer for a small warranty issue and caught them filling mine with regular water so had to drain that out before swapping fluid. Which is why boosters are great for those that might have fluid that is not rated for cold.
