Boss I know your a military aerospace person. Can you educate us a little bit on these different grades of aluminium and what exactly all that means? I know Ford says same material used on the 787. That mean stronger, thicker, lighter....what exactly?
I think this was just a comparison that both are using innovative, lighter-weight materials, at least if it's being taken from this quote:
"Both the F-150 and Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner are “innovative products using lightweight materials that push the envelope relative to competitors,” Brian Johnson, an analyst at Barclays Plc., wrote in a report last week."
The 787 is the first airliner to use composite materials (instead of aluminum) as its primary structure.
