Nope, but to activate the Maps you need the 16 digit key code.
Key code comes via email and snail mail with the disks.
The 4 disk kits are put together for software codes that you will find in the Nav system info tab.
There are 4 different Sync codes for Ford, Lincoln, Mercury and Mazda. (note for 2010, 2011, 2012)
