I wonder if it has my street on it. The one that came with my truck didn't, but it was a pretty new neighborhood when I bought it.

Update

Note:
This is for Raptor years 2010 1/2, 2011 and 2012 that does not come with "MFT"
The newer Raptors with "MFT" and the SD Slot for maps are going to be different.

Got my Nav kit and there are software disks too.
I'm kind of scared with the software stuff I hope they didn't screw up anything.
As far as I know I already have the latest Sync version for a 2010 1/2......Gen1 - V3.1
Maybe the software update is for something else?

It's going to take 40 minutes with the engine running in park to install this.

I'm glad to see someone has received the update from this company.

I just placed my order and it was a very strange experience. It certainly wasn't Ford.

Yes sir!

I am going to call somebody I don't know who yet. LOL
But before I do the upgrade, I want to know what this software update does, or if it's even necessary.
I won't do it, if it kills my ability to watch DVDs or something stupid like that.

Details on what this does is lacking in the instructions.

So I gave a call to "Here", this company used to be call NavTeQ.

"Here" is now the company Ford hired to do the Maps.
Just incase anybody is confused when ordering.

The person swears (LOL) nothing gets changed so he says.
The software Disk1 update is for getting the Nav ready for Map update and Disk2 has the sync update.

He states that if you have done the Sync update then the Disk2 option will not be highlighted, so it will skip Disk2.
So it's actually a lot less than 50 minutes.

Now for the fun part!!!, it says in the instructions "Map Update will take approximately "3 Hours". For Both Disks.

After 10% of Disk1 is updated (or when the notice comes up) you can turn off the vehicle and the process will continue when the truck is running again.

Kind of ridiculous isn't it. LOL
(I wonder if we could swap out the old slow 40GB HDD for a Samsung Pro SSD) probably not :-(

I will start later on tonight after dinner. I'll keep you updated.

Update:

I cleared/deleted my phonebook unpaired my phone and turned the Bluetooth off on my Android. Then I did a Master reset on the Nav.
(I didn't want any problems like the MFT update had for some.)

Software Disk1 took less than 4 minutes!

Software Disk2 is the Sync software,
when you insert it, it will tell you your software ver. installed and the software ver. on Disk2.
I had the same ID codes, so you can skipped it and ejected the disk.
But me being me I went ahead and did the 15-20 min Sync update. (two short beers)

I see nothing that has changed everything is just like before. :)

I now have inserted Maps Update Disk1 of the Nav Maps update,
I waited about 15% installed which is about 15-17 minutes of the 2 hr. install process for Disk1 and shut off the truck.
Nothing ever popped up about being able to turn off the vehicle.
But I re-read the instructions and it says not to turn off while pre-installation is in process,
once the actual install process starts (which starts at 6.35% complete) then you can then turn of the vehicle.
I'll let you know

Map update Disk2 is for Gracenotes and that will take 1 hr. (Incase your wondering what Gracenotes is, it's the POI, Gas Stations, Hospitals, etc. info)

Day two:

Started her up this morning and the installation started up and right away it ask for Disk2,
when I inserted it, it continued the install with the status bar reading 60% complete.
I guess it does the install with the truck off. Well that's good!
Drove 40 minutes to work and it's now at 70%.
I'll update later when I'm home after work.

Update:

Got in my truck to drive home and the installation was finished. So there is no need to have the truck running the whole time.

So the first thing I noticed different is the map resolution has been bumped up, everything is much sharper!
As far as the map goes, don't see a difference with menu items.
My bread crumbs were still in memory and you can now see bread crumbs in both directions on a road.
Text is sharper too, the fonts are different and maybe a slightly smaller font.
Was a little easier to read before at a quick glance. Maybe just have to get used to it.

I'll post some pictures up, the ones I took while driving home are too shaky, not worth posting
