I don't know any dealer around that can promise what they will give you on a trade 4 or 5 months from now. Your car will be another year older with more miles. If you have to trade your current car, you have no leverage with the new truck, you will get screwed. Do what mudblood say's and take to Car Max. Same with interest rates, neither your bank nor the dealer can tell you what they will be 4 or 5 months from now.

Get the price from the dealer what the truck will cost you when it arrives. Put your down payment on a credit card over the phone and have the dealer email you the paperwork. They will probably want to run a credit check on you, most dealers will. You don't have to even go the the dealership until you go to pick up your truck.

My dealer didn't even ask for any credit app, just took my word for it. Guess that might finally explain the non-refundable deposit. LOL

Carmax will give you the very best price. I have done it three different times. Get a quote from them which is good for three days and take it to my dealer. They have always honored them.

Do you HAVE TO bring it to them or can they do it with pictures via email? Closest Carmax to me is several hours away.

No one will state a price without actually seeing the vehicle. I am sure you would not want to do that if the situation were reversed. Their quote is only good for three days.

I've already had two of the three dealerships quote me a trade price without seeing my vehicle. They asked about a credit check and I said there is no need I have my own financing I just need to know when I need the financing at the order date or at the delivery date. I will be getting 1.49% as I'm going through a credit union and they offer lower rates to members with higher credit scores, so I know I'm set there and I do I can get more financing I just don't want more, I'm comfortable at 35k in loan, and like I said before my car is valued at 22k, I'm not walking in somewhere and saying my car is valued at x, I'm saying I want this amount for it, and if they come back and say oh well we can do 22k or 23k then I'm like okay that's fine I'll take 23k, I don't know it's just a tactic to actually get what I want for my car, if I have to trade it before delivery than I'm fine with that.

My dealer went ahead and bought my trade-in. They said they could keep my car on the books so that I could get the tax break on the difference of my trade and the truck. I think I had to put down $1500 for them to order the truck, also got the truck at $500 over dealer invoice. Also, car max is a rip off, I went with my ford dealer that I ordered the truck from and they gave 2 grand over car max plus the grand I will save in taxes. But I also traded in a 2011 Shelby GT500 with low miles. Might want to see what your local infiniti dealership can do instead.

Are you thinking the Infiniti Dealership could buy my car from me and give me better value because it's an Infiniti?

They bought your car ahead of time and let you keep it until your ordered truck came in? Guess I don't quite understand what you worked out. My truck trade and new is all business so I know the savings there.

Should I be signing the paperwork at the build date? I'm thinking if I don't sign paperwork and the truck finally arrives they can screw me over and increase the price, is that possible?

I had to sign a build sheet and buyers order with a deposit. They wouldn't proceed otherwise. They can increase it but ONLY if Ford increases the invoice to the dealer which should be minimal. There has already been two price increases on the 2014, base and destination went up a few hundred.

Make sure and read all the fine print before signing anything.

I always do, but I wanted to make sure signing was part of the procedure because I want to have signatures on the deal before it arrives, I don't want any surprises in 2 months when it arrives
