What is the factory tonneau cover and E-Zero Rock On? you have them on your signature for your 2014 order. Is the factory tonneau cover through your dealership accessories?

It's actually a factory cover you can add to your build online from Ford.com. I figure it might not be the best out there but also figured for only $400, I can find out. Plus I am thinking that it will be covered under warranty at the dealer since factory.

Someone finally noticed the E-Zero Rock On. LOL
It was a stab at Wilson and his E-30 Rock On all the freakin time.

The dealership and I agreed on a trade in value in writing when I ordered the truck and continued to DD the trade in. Only caveat that was written into to the agreement was that we would revisit the trade in value if the truck was not build in (going from memory here) 4.5 months. Thought that was fair. Find a dealer you feel comfortable with, buying a vehicle should not be a painful experience.

Oh I thought it was a dealer accessory, I want the tonneau cover that is a hard top, I think the body-color fiberglass ones look the best, but I also like the ones that are hard folding or I like the Avalanche they lock together and easily can be taken off. From experience I will never buy the soft folding snap on tonneau covers they are more of a headache than anything.

I took a look at the invoice thread, and Edmunds and like the trade off between lowering the MSRP or increasing the trade what's the difference, but like some of the dealerships I was walking into they were saying to me Okay 25k is no problem I don't even need to appraise it, I laughed and was like okay then you can take it, but can I build... there answer was no so no deal there. I don't know if I really like that dealership either, they didn't even have offices just customers sitting in the middle of the showroom talking deals.

I cant figure out why these nutbags aren't letting you build and order a truck. Im pretty sure that's complete ******** and theyre trying to screw you on a used one.

Did they even have a reason why?

Walk away fast as you can. Find a dealer that sells a lot of raptors. Go to a car max and either sell them your car or get a quote.

Well this is the first dealer that is letting me build and order a raptor that is the only reason I'm dealing with them, but it was still very annoying to do, I'm thinking I should be able to sit at a computer with them and pick what I want, literally was sitting in the middle of showroom floor with eight other couples pricing out deals, it seemed like a joke. The other dealerships that couldn't order raptors were the ones saying they would give me 24k for my car, so I'm wondering if it was ********, either way I know that on edmunds the dealer suggested retail is 23k and the certified list price is 26k and on Kbb my car is valued at 22k, if they want to give me that then they are lowering the price to 56 or 55k if not then give me 25k and I'll pay 58k.

Good news is there is a Carmax near me and there is I think about 5 or 6 ford dealers near me. This dealer I went to is callled crossroads Ford, they have 2 of the five locations near me and it seems the other location I didn't go to has more experience ordering raptors so maybe it would be in my best interest to go over there, however, they might know I am coming because this salesman and GM were on the phone with their manager basically the whole time.

My worst thing is when a salesmen runs to his manager at every question and it is like every single one of these NC dealers whether it is GMC or Ford or Dodge or Jeep that is what they do. I bought my Infiniti from a smaller dealer in Syracuse, NY. the salesmen is honestly my friend now, he's been doing it a long time though and he never asked questions to anyone else, I paid cash for it and I said I'm buying with cash will you take 3k off the price, he said yeah absolutely no questions it was done deal. I like dealing with salesmen that know what they are talking about. I go into these dealerships teaching these people about the cars they are showing me to test drive, isn't that a problem? I did it with Infiniti though when it came to the service department I knew about things before they did or knew about service bulletins before they did. Yes it is from forums and it is from research but god it is just awareness and being prepared to talk about what you are going to test drive or buy.

Stop walking into dealerships. I only do that when I am picking up my new vehicle or having to show the trade (only if local) and even then you can send pictures. Vehicles are sold on eBay with just pictures. Do everything via email and phone, it won't frustrate you so much and probably get a better deal overall.

I know I think I'm going to start calling around on Monday, I think I'm going to start asking for the general manager, I think the internet guys are annoying to because they are just looking to make a sales, each one I have dealt with has been overly pushy and not helpful, the point is because I'm ordering I don't have any obligation to stay with any of these dealerships in particular and I should be able to shop around and find a dealership that will accept the offer that I am comfortable with because I don't feel it's an unreasonable offer

I would highly recommend that you sell your vehicle privately. This will make the deal very transparent and it will be much easier to compare the bottom line Raptor price. The dealerships can't/won't tell you today, what they will give you for your trade-in tomorrow and that's working against you when shopping price. One dealer may give you a better price on the Raptor, but bone you on the trade-in... another dealer may give you a good trade-in, but up the price on the Raptor to make up for it.

I don't know the market for your car, in your area, but I think the $25k expectation seems a bit high, especially because you said it's currently for sale privately and there hasn't been much interest. It doesn't sound like your car is in high demand and dealerships don't want to pay even fair market price for any vehicle that's not going to sell quick.

Ditch the current car and get on the phone until you find a dealership that's willing to play ball. Many dealerships have the names and titles of all their employees listed on their website; you might even want to try dealing with different sales people at the same dealership... maybe one is more willing to cut into their commission a little more. My uncle has worked at a Ford dealership for 28 years and has too many return/repeat customers to handle on his own; because he's so overwhelmed with customers, he's not exactly giving the vehicles away at fire sale prices. These guys all work on commission and return customers are a big part of the job. It might be worth working with one of the newer guys who is struggling for customers and sales.

Carmax will give you the very best price. I have done it three different times. Get a quote from them which is good for three days and take it to my dealer. They have always honored them.
