ok heres the part where im a little confused. BlueSVT you did a successful hid kit install, but if im not mistaken, the previous year raptors didnt have the projector headlights. i trying to find someone on here that has a 2013 with the projector lenses and find out what they did to get their new hid kit to work.

are they a h13 bulb? d3s bulb? i was looking around for d3s hid kits and they are pretty much non existent.

Haven't seen anyone on here try a 55w in the OEM Projectors, but I may have missed it. As Nosbusa said, heat might be an issue. You might call or PM Dawson at Raptor Retrofits to see if he has tried 55's.

It is a D3S bulb, if that helps you on your quest.

Finding a 55W 6k D3s bulb and ballast should be easy, mounting the ballast while plugging the hole on the headlight housing and running your wires will be the only thing to worry about.

You have the OEM HID's now? You would be looking for a replacement D3s Bulb, which would be hard to find in different color temps. Otherwise You would need to pull the whole projector and do a full retrofit of a different projector that uses a different bulb. If I recall correctly, the EVOX-R projectors will bolt right in. You then need to get new ballasts and D2S bulbs and a wire harness.

What he said, lol.

D3S bulbs suck to begin with, I don't even know if the make a 55w D3S. If you did find one, as said above, you need to run new ballast off a wire harness. You would also need to leave the oem solenoid wires connected for brights.

I would just recommend the EvoX upgrade, it takes a higher quality D2S bulb and can be safely run at 50w, plus it outperforms the oem projector in every way. Ive done several of these, if your interested in a price shoot me a PM.
