Did this upgrade on my 2013 a few months ago (been having MASSIVE problems with this site on mobile devices BTW). Went the DIY route and sourced all the parts myself. Cost about $400 and that's with the sync3 OEM NAV that I don't even use.
My front cam is a no go. At least activating it through the normal means (4L or locked + off road mode). As I understand it, the front cam in the gen 1 raptors was kind of a kludge implementation. All OEM sync3 vehicles with a front cam have it as part of a 360 camera system, so it seems sync3 can't handle the front cam by itself. There are APIM settings for it, but I've not been able to get any to work. It's pretty useless anyway so I'm not too bent out of shape about it.
Question though for those that have done this...I'm assuming all 13-14 raptors have automatic climate control (or maybe just 802a's), but I have not been able to get the temperature change overlay to work. Everything else is fine, the hard climate controls and the touchscreen controls both work, but when changing the temperature I do not get the radial overlay similar to what you get when you change the volume. The temperature settings change on the screen, but are not visible when in carplay/android auto. Being too lazy to switch back to the sync display, i find myself cranking the temp all the way one way or another instead of just setting a temp and letting it do its thing.
My APIM came programmed for a gen 12 XLT with manual climate, and I just made a couple targeted changes to get my extra equipment working (primarily sony and auto, dual zone climate). Curious if anyone has been able to get the temp overlay to work via forscan. I've heard the gen 12 center stack control module (FCIM) doesn't have the logic to make it work, but I'm not sure I buy that given it otherwise talks to the APIM just fine.
I may wipe the slate clean and load a full gen 2 802a raptor APIM file on it, then work back to address the equipment I don't have that comes on gen 2's, but if there's an easier way I'm all ears.
