Anyone see the LED running lights Ford is testing on the new 2012? What about the new color, Racing Red?

Article is here

I agree with the article, that the LED lights are probably in the gap for testing, and if they decide to keep them they will probably be more integrated. In which case, I'm all for. Just don't leave them in the gap, Ford! It makes it look like a riceburner got ahold of it. :superhack:

The "new" color looks like the current molten orange to me.....
The running lights would be cool if they incorporated them into a new projector/hid head light housing.

Ya that's what I thought, too. But Mike Levine claims it's a new racing red. It seems to be a very slight shift in hue.

LEDs in the headlights! That would be sick. Thanks, Audi.

Pretty sure that's racing molten orange. :)

I don't quite understand the point of more LEDs....visibility isn't exactly a weak point on the current model in my humble opinion.

It looks red to me. More red than molten orange does anyway.
The LEDs are cool, but I'm not really digging the placement of them. Perhaps that's just for testing.

I noticed they mentioned cooled seats as an expected addition, that's something I'd love to have

...and I know I'm not the only one who imagined JP7 foaming at the mouth and ******* the leg of the nearest person at the mention of a Front E-Locker.

{Hands Bo a towel} That'll probably wash out in the laundry...

Looks like they may have just dropped in one of the 5 bulb versions available here:
Ford F-150 2011 - Ford HID Kits - NOTTO® SE - LED Daytime Running Lights

I'm all for DRL's. It is one of my real pet peeves on limited visibility days and I'm pulling out onto the highway. Just please give me a way to turn them off for the final approach on early morning hunting days on forest service roads.

I think the integrated with projector beam headlights is more likely to happen...ala Halo, Recon or Xtralights...minus the halo.
