Seriously? For Parking? I have no problem driving large vehicles, I drive a 48,000lb HME Smeal fire truck for a living and I ordered the front/rear camera option on my Raptor to make parking easier.

Apparently, you have a larger e-**** than I, sir. I've only driven and ridden in a 39,000 pound 8x8 OshKosh "Dragon Wagon" while getting shot at overseas. I still don't need a front camera. It's my opinion, it's my view, so YOU all need to chill out about it.

If you want the camera, get a camera. This forum is all about Raptor discussion (a `la 5.8/5.0/6.2/5.4 anyone?) and if we cannot have a discussion, then shut this bitch down. :flipthebird:

The thing that MOST OF YOU FAIL TO UNDERSTAND BEFORE YOU GET YOUR ******* IN A *** is that the front camera is rumored and speculated to ONLY work in 4x4 LOW RANGE. Given that, try using that to make parking EASIER on pavement.

Does it work in other modes? Do we know? THAT is what I was getting at for adding USEFUL information to this thread.

it's been posted the front camera also works in ORM with the rear locker by k9resq or one of those guys.

I ordered the front camera on mine. I have absolutely no idea what I'll use it for, the truck will be my DD and I'll only be offroading less than 1% of the time (15k miles a year, couple 50 mile off road cruising GTG's a year??? zero rock crawling in NJ lol), but it was an option that didn't cost a ridiculous amount, and should hold its value pretty reasonably. I always go out of my way to park away from everyone else, or take the finace's car, but it's not always an option. It will be useful for parking if I'm in a tight area, in a spot, and need to get 1/4" from the wall or post. No biggie to pop it into ORM & Locker for pulling straight forward to gain those extra couple inches. Doesn't matter how big of a vehicle you've driven before. Guys aren't using it to get into any parking spot, they're using it for getting into those tight ones where you're looking over that edge of the hood as far as you can, clenching your cheeks hoping you don't tap your bumper a fraction of an inch away from the wall, or tap that car in front of you. Even parallel parking. Get 90% into the spot, and chit, did the guy in front of you have a hitch hanging out? Or are you dead in the middle of the spot so the azzholes in front/behind don't go smacking into your ride? I lived in Philly for 5 years parallel parking every single day, I can do it blindfolded on either side of the road, and would still find it helpful. I don't need it, and nobody said they need the cameras for parking their raptors. But would it be helpful on occasions? Without a doubt.

I've been on forums for over a decade for various vehicles, and I find it funny how easy it is to predict the responses. A new option comes out, and it's all the guys with previous year vehicles that don't have that option that go on rants about how stupid the option is, and how unnecessary it is, yet guys who have the same year the option was offered, but simply didn't get the option, don't rant on about how stupid and unnecessary it is, but just that they didn't need it/want it, and thats all.

2010-2011 guys: "you use it for parking? how STUPID is that? You must SUCK as a driver if you want to use your option for something like that!"

2012 guys w/o camera: "you use it for parking? huh, yeah I didn't need it/want it so I didn't order it"

I can't wait till the warm weather hits, and it'll start over again

2012 guy: "wow got to test out my a/c seats and they are incredible, I use it to fight swamp ***"

2010-2011 guys: "what a STUPID option, why would you ever want that? Just baby powder that chit and you're golden, what kind of idiot would ever want a/c seats?!"

2012 guys w/o a/c seats: "swamp *** huh? lol, yeah I didn't get a/c seats, thats cool though"

Just got off the phone with Coastal Electronics, the makers of LockPick, and I they said that it is currently not an advertised feature for the LockPick to do front camera on demand. However, they currently are doing some testing for it. It's unknown whether it'll be a minor software update or if it's just impossible to override.

Sensitive much? Settle down Cha-chi, the only person in the thread loosing their shit is you. For a guy that claims to have been shot at, you think you'd be a little more relaxed in front of your computer. Your posts I've read, this one and others, are inflammatory, you try to **** people off...are you sure it wasn't your own guys shooting at you? ;) Remember, we're here to help each other out, not start fights.

This thread is titled" This is a discussion on 2012 Front camera in action within the 2012 Ford SVT Raptor Forum forums, part of the Ford Raptor Tech category"
K9RESQ started an excellent thread that I find useful in the appropriate category, apparently so do others. If you don't like it, feel free not to read it. Go take your Raptor for a drive, listen to some Christmas music, and try to have a Merry Christmas.
P.S. Thanks for serving in the military, that is a huge sacrifice and greatly appreciated.

Can the front camera be ordered on its own? I was under the impression that you had to order the Navigation to get it. Thanks.

What the **** are you talking about? I'm not criticizing anyone. I simply stated that, "If you need to see out the front of the truck via a camera rather than the windshield, you shouldn't be driving such a large vehicle."

Perhaps I should have said, "If you need additional technology such as a forward facing camera to park an oversized vehicle, of which, you can see more FOV out the windshield, then you should be driving something smaller, learn how to drive and park correctly or park away from other vehicles."

With the limited FOV on the camera, I'd be worried about some ******* opening their door, a child (most importantly) or some other scenario that if I'm locked-in on staring at a 7" screen rather than a damn 70" piece of clear glass in front of me, I'd miss.

I can completely understand the rear-view camera on a vehicle such as this and any vehicle, for that matter, since you do NOT have such an impressive FOV when it comes to that. You have trunks, head restraints and all sorts of shit blocking your view, not to mention traveling ******* backwards.

If you want criticism, I can give it to you. I think you're a valued member, so don't be a ****.

Ahh, at least someone get's it...

With your 61 posts of infamy on this site, I surely hope that the :flipthebird: was because you were airing out your finger because you were digging in your ******* looking for more intelligent things to say.

How about adding something worthwhile to the site, or at least this thread. How about saying, "...it works in 4x4 LO only". How about saying, "I can see so much better through the screen than the windshield". How about saying, "The front camera is awesome because I have it and you don't".

Regarding your post, of course those that ordered the front camera and have a use or need for it are going to love it. Even those that don't have a use for it, like me, would love it because it's part of the truck. I'd probably use it as a "ooh aah" thing after a couple of beers with the buddies.

Your post sucks.

'Eh, I guess I just know how to drive. I'll leave this thread now.

Hope to see you guys out there parking...well, well. :)

Not trying to be a **** at all. If it seemed that way, I apologize. I agree that if you need the front camera then you should be driving a smaller vehicle. However, I was just trying to argue the fact that I am fully capable of driving a Raptor or any other monstrous vehicle. The sole purpose of a camera on the exterior of an automobile should be to help/improve the driver's visibility, and this is exactly how I intended to use it. It's not something that I'd rely on fully but only as a tool to help/improve visibility. Shit, we have rear cameras on 2 of 5 cars in the house and I rarely use them.

Swoop I love you. :supergay:

Being a service man yourself, isn't it rather ****** up to elude to the fact that his OWN guys were shooting at him?

Swoop is an active military man, someone I have talked to on a personal note...

Now why would you want/wish/say that one of our military men are getting shot at by their own force...

I dont understand your mindset. While it may seem to you that swoop is overreacting and trying to **** people off, which is something I am very good at. You, my friend, are the one overreacting, wishing harm on another individual. Thats not respectable.

This is the internet and yes everyone has an E-****. While my E-**** is just as big as my REAL LIFE ****, seems to me yours is not the same.

Grow a pair and take it like a man.
