Rock auto http://www.rockauto.com has Fram panel filters for this application priced at $7.38 a piece!

I don't use FRAM products but this is the least expensive price I have found from a reputable source so far.

Haha, it might be worth it.

I am actually wondering how Brian's K & N is doing.

The filter was supposed to be cleaned when I took the truck in last week...I'll open up the hood and confirm it was. If not I'll get some pics up. The truck has about 6000 miles since I put the CAI on and the filter looked OK before the Mojave trip.

Another thing I like about B's setup... was anyone else concerned during that water crossing? Our stock box draws from down under there... B's draws from much higher.

Brian, I'm confused (maybe not a surprise to anyone  ). I thought you put a K&N CAI on your truck and I thought it has the round type of air filter? The K&N clean-able filter is a rectangular affair designed to replace the stock replaceable filter. Did you put the stock rectangular airbox on the CAI? (THAT doesn't sound right). Or does the K&N come with a rectangular airbox designed to fit the stock or K&N's stock cleanable filter?

From K&N's website:
Now we can apply our High-Flow Technology to a large conical open element air filter, providing more surface area for huge increases in airflow that turn into horsepower you can feel. The oversize air filter also captures and holds more dirt. This increases the service life before a cleaning is required (up to 100,000 miles for air intakes depending on driving conditions).

Hey Dan, sorry for the confusion. I ran a K&N drop-in from 2000 to 13000 miles then switched to the CAI. Very nice filters I usually run them in all my vehicles. This was the first CAI I have ever put on didn't realyy see the need before.
