I have a 2017 ford raptor. Has anyone had as many oil pan replacements as me?

Wondering if anyone under the sun has had the metal oil pan retrofitted through ford?

Also I know of a few people that had their engines replaced. But I’m thinking a new oem engine with new oil plan wouldn’t happen either but I guess I can dream.

Ford corporate is being brought on this newest oil pan replacement. I’ll report back what happens. I’m just trying to see if anyone else has had large sums of oil pan replacements done (3+ pans).

not really....

there have been plenty of complaints because folks don't like anything new. So the idea of a new composite oil pan, and new idea drain plug gets everyone all hot and bothered.

What exactly happened to your oil pan....why is it being replaced?

It’s being replaced for the 4th time. It’s leaking oil like the epidemic on 2017’s. It’s a shit design.

I guess I should say “resealed”, I think the actual pan itself was only replaced once. But the same procedure 4 times.

I have had two replacements, the last one is holding so far. I was told that the pan must be replaced as the plastic warps. That might be the problem also it is a three day process as they need to let the sealant cure before they fill it with oil. I’m not to confident that it will be my last one.

You are not informed on this. It's not people hating new stuff. The plastic pans leak on a regular basis, and not just on the Raptors either- all of Ford's plastic oil pans on their recent engines had have issues.

OP, I'd just buy the correct parts and get the metal pan installed, even if it's was on my dime. It will fit, but it's not just the pan either.

My only concern with that is if something goes wrong with the oil then it is all on me, so if the motor blows or something god forbid etc etc

Sounds like you need a new mechanic.

Plenty of us have 30,000 miles on the original oil pan without problem.

Lol it’s through Ford. I don’t choose the mechanic. And this is a prevalent problem with 2017’s. I don’t understand why you come off condescending.....

i tend to agree with df4801

yes, you may have had a defect originally, and that repair was botched. composite oil pans have been a thing with multiple manufacturers for 10 years now.
