i guess my mental images are way off, i was picturing bigfoot but with like regular street tires.... and while no i do not approve of this, it suprisingly looks better then the image i had in my head... but still.... not cool man... not cool.....

At the risk of being banned, shunned, and generally ignored from this point forward - I am intending to lift my ride in the future.

16" is stupid, and so is anything over 6" in my humble opinion. But I know I can create a really mean look with a 4-6" mild lift and tires to suit.

This puts me in the 1% of Raptor owners category, but I could care less. With the lines on this truck, the appearance (not that I give a ****), and functionality offroading in trail-running, will improve with the modified suspension lift.

I'm going to design it over the next year and will plan on building in winter 2012 as budget allows. Having a slightly taller stance, and wider tires, will certainly make this truck go more places. And the way I plan on designing it, with Ford SVT Engineers input, will not affect it's ability to run through the desert at full speed with the rest of them.

Aside from the mindless drivel on other sites about lifting this truck and ruining the look and feel - there are a number of benefits to having improvements to the suspension. Body lifts are crap, and involve intricate modifications to the steering components - but a suspension lift engineered to suit the truck can help you go places you never dreamed of before.

Yes - 16" is stupid for this truck, and defeats the purpose. But there are other options out there to acheive a little better performance with a little mild tweaking.

When I get there, I'll post pics of what I intend and do to my truck.

A mild lift makes sense, maybe 2-4" at most on a raptor IMO

On a normal f150 depends on it uses. I plan on doing the bds 6" lift with 37" tires. Some people will think that's to much, but for how I will use it its gonna be perfect.
