1/2 ton, 3/4 ton, 1 ton? WTF?

Tonnage Classification usually goes by Payload Capacity.

Needless to say, I had a lil less than 500lbs in the bed of the Raptor the other day, and I was less than satisfied with the amount of Squat the rear had with that little weight in it.

I know the Raptor has lighter capacity Leafs than a regular F150, but c'mon, it was less than 500lbs, and it squatted more than 2". Gave it the stupid Cali Lean look.

So, I am now in the market to get rid of my '18 with less than 3k miles, and go back to an HD Truck.

As so as you start it up the fox shocks will level truck out and it will ride and drive as normal....what could be better??

I don't get it... The Raptor is a performance vehicle that has some utility. Why did you buy a Raptor if hauling is a big deal to you? Obviously if the Raptor could haul better you'd be sacrificing ride and off road performance, which are the point of the truck. I don't understand how people buy Raptors expecting them to tow and haul a million pounds. That's not what it's designed for.

To make this more confusing the 150/250/350/1500/2500/3500 means nothing anymore. Many of those trucks that are called 1500 now rated at 1800lbs, 2000lbs, 2300lbs, etc. At this point it's just a "ballpark" and historical name. The Raptor, of course, is rated lower due to the Baja suspension by design.

I know what the truck is designed for, built for, capable of, whatever you wanna call it.

But the fact is, with only 500lbs in the bed, it shouldn't squat as much as it did. It's not like I'm trying to tow a 34ft boat or a bed full of gravel with this truck, and am shocked it can't handle it.

So now...going by some people's logic that decided to attack me, with it being a "Baja Ready Performance Truck" you're telling me that people using the truck for what it's "designed and built for", AREN'T going to be carrying atleast 500lbs of $hit in the bed?! C'mon, get serious.

I'm not saying I hate the truck and wanna kill it with fire, so relax.

Atleast with the weight in the bed, it rode better than a Caddy! There, now that I praised the truck, you happy now?!

Look at Deavers . Cheaper than trading, and better performance. The hds ride good. And you can get a 4 inch bump stop if load is really important to you

Don't even listen to them.
Ford won't put proper rear springs in the Raptor for two main reasons.
Proper rear springs would cost more and proper rear springs does add 150+ lbs. to the vehicle weight.
Then their claim that the Gen 2 will be far lighter than the Gen 1 gets cut down even further.
From 1000 lbs. to 470 lbs. which it's at now to 320 +/- lbs. lighter.
Just get proper springs like Deavers or Icons and call it a day.
Ride quality is night and day difference without the sag.

I think you are attacking yourself...and there is probably a name for that...LOL....but really just start your truck up drive it and the suspension will adjust and compensate for your load. It will ride better than any other truck out there. Granted not a 250 but awesome truck. If unsure buy a RAM...then you will hate yourself and your truck.

You're right that 500lbs isn't that much. I think it's just something we have to accept with the Raptor that for Ford to set up the suspension for the truck's purpose, not for hauling. I have a trailer for if I need to move more than a couple-few hundred pounds. If I were going to move 500+lbs I'd use the trailer.

Buying the appropriate model of F-150 would probably be the solution.

Are different springs the answer to this issue?
