“Not Used” and “Not Used (spare) (Raptor)” Fuse Locations

I am an electrical engineer. If you have 12V on one side and a ground on the other and insert a fuse the fuse will blow. 12V drop divided by zero resistance (a fuse is a short) equals infinite current (blows any fuse regardless of rating).

Thanks for the education. I obviously did not understand. It's difficult for me to wrap my head around. I imagine a 100A fuse, and it's a pretty solid chunk of metal. I imagine using a 100A fuse to short 8 AA batteries wired in series (12V), and that 100A fuse is going to blow?

no. its not enough current to blow a 100amp fuse. but it can short out whatever its connected to

Thanks for the feedback. Here is a screenshot of my printout of the 2019 manual and the notes I took at top. I am as certain as I can be that it was fuse 14.

It looks like they forgot to update the Owner’s Manual for 2019. On 2018 and earlier models F14 was not used. On 2019 models it powers the VDM.

Your truck battery can theoretically supply hundreds of amps so your analogy isn’t quite applicable. AA batteries are limited in the amount of current just like any power source. The reason you have all those fuses in there is precisely because your electrical system can provide enough current to set your truck on fire. It for sure could blow a 100amp fuse, but if you wired that into the fusebox you’d likely burn up the wire harness supplying the current before you’d blow that sucker.

Well shit. Imma leave F14 alone then.

I'm ultimately going into the bed with the IGN wire. I had planned on routing the power supply and the IGN trigger as one harness, but I suppose I can originate them at separate places and they can meet up at their common destination. Just a little more work that way.

So is there any IGN switched power in the engine compartment fusebox?
In the engine compartment as a whole?
If I must go to the kick panel fuse box, what is the recommended fuse to tap, and how would I best get to the bed (the passenger side forward drain plug) from there?
