I am an electrical engineer. If you have 12V on one side and a ground on the other and insert a fuse the fuse will blow. 12V drop divided by zero resistance (a fuse is a short) equals infinite current (blows any fuse regardless of rating).
Thanks for the education. I obviously did not understand. It's difficult for me to wrap my head around. I imagine a 100A fuse, and it's a pretty solid chunk of metal. I imagine using a 100A fuse to short 8 AA batteries wired in series (12V), and that 100A fuse is going to blow?
