My son has convinced me several times over the years not to sell my 2012. He was 7 when I picked it up from the dealer and now has somewhat adopted it as his own. Likes fixing broken items on it and changes the oil since he’s going to school for automotive engineering. The GEN 1 body lines and...
I check in from time to time but the boy took the truck to college with him so not on here as much. Stepped down/down sized to a Bronco. Miss driving the Raptor.
So it took 12 years and 117,000 miles for my 2012 to see a little action off road…nothing crazy, just a little stroll at Silver Lake in Michigan. Courtesy of my 19 year old son and some of his auto shop buddies. Audio is rather amusing.
These trucks aren’t cheap to own or fix. As much as you’d like to grab one, get yourself financially set before diving in on something like this. My 19yoa son took my 2012 to school with him and reality set in for the gas fill ups alone. Before he left, I had new tires and brakes installed...
That’s what my 2012 did when fuse 27 started to go. I’d get the repetitive cranking but would not start in the first couple attempts. It also happened when the starter and flywheel were on its last legs a few years ago. The fuse relocation is a quick fix and worth it having piece of mind. The...
My 2012 with just over 100,000 has this issue. My son now drives it as his daily and I saw some red fluid dripping from the skid plate when he came home today. Sure as shit, leaking from that quick connect and need to replace the coolant tube lines.
Just recently handed my 2012 off to my son for his daily driver with 100,000 miles. Had the differential, transmission and coolant serviced along with original belt replaced.
He decided to blow some of his hard earned cash by having Ford install the Stainless Works long tube header kit with...
Doesn’t matter how and why it was finally done. The fact is it happened. Companies will normally play catch up when a rival ‘one ups’ them if they feel it’s worth it financially.
After all those years of the naysayer’s stating Ford will NEVER put a V8 back in the F150 Raptor….“We’ve heard our customers demanding the sound and power of a V8 back in Raptor,” said Widmann.”
Both boots are starting to leak and the steering rack needs to be replace. Ford is unable to find a steering rack anywhere in stock as they no longer make the part.…STG450. I’ve checked Tasca, Rock Auto etc and none has it in stock and there is no time frame when the will have it.
Has any OG...
About to hit 98,000. First major tuneup and coolant flush just completed. Condenser needed replacing as it was leaking as well. Otherwise have been fortunate.
That gives me such hope as an original owner of a 2012 that crossed 92,000 recently. My son has been adamant about not selling it and holding onto to it for the long haul.
