Not sure if this is allowed here but I figured it would be better to try on here first before posting a new thread. Anyone on here interested in testing lower grill mounts for Baja Design squadron pods? I designed them to fit my gen 2 but wanted someone to test to see if they fit gen 3s. I am...
Here is my attempt for installing fogs behind the grill. I found that you could mount the smaller fogs directly to the upper shroud at the upper corners. You may need a few washers or in my case, I 3D printed some reinforcement pieces. For the lower bumper behind the grill, I designed and 3D...
For what it’s worth, I just got my truck back, they found a stretched chain and broken guide. This is the second cam phaser repair on this truck. First repair was with HL3Z and second repair just completed was with ML3Z phasers. It’s interesting that I only heard the noise 5 days before bringing...
Unless the truck is salvage, high mileage, or previously black listed for a tune or something like that, you should still be able to get ford ESP. I would suggest you
Call a few local dealers and ask for some quotes. They will ask for your vin and mileage.
I feel like a lot of people complain about transmission these days on raptors. The fact that it was replaced probably means it got the newest basket? Replaced tranny is probably a positive thing for me if paperwork exists. OASIS report is a must when buying a truck. Also, shop around for ESP...
I also just experienced a cam phaser rattle. Currently at the dealer luckily under warranty. They said the HL3Z phaser that was installed in 2021 as part of cam
Phaser replacement on my truck is old problematic phaser. ML3Z is the latest that supposedly solves the issue. Baffles me that here...
Found this video that talks about the difference between HL3Z and ML3Z cam phasers. Apparently per the video, ML3Z is the latest phaser.
I’m still surprised that we are still talking about this issue here in 2024.
Apologies for resurrecting this thread but I figured it would be best to add my experience to this thread instead of creating my own and cluttering this forum.
After an extensive search of a used raptor that had good service history (proven regular oil changes in OASIS and Carfax), cam phaser...
That’s certainly concerning. I’ll ask the dealer for pictures of the part number once they remove it. Hopefully it’s indeed the old rev and not the new rev. The truck never made any noises during my ownership until only last Friday. Luckily was able to bring in the truck on Monday and they...
I’ve got an interesting situation, ford dealer installed old rev cam phasers parts in 2021 according to my current ford dealer when I brought them my truck for the rattle. Don’t they obsolete or disposition old non conforming inventory. Surprised an old part made it to 2021 dealer inventory.
I believe so? If you search the forum, I’m sure there are lots of info about that. For what it’s worth, I have a 2018 that I purchased knowing they replaced the cam phasers in 2021. Unfortunately I didn’t check the PNs so they actually installed old rev cam phasers according to my tech. I am now...
That looks like a failing PPF. Looks like dirt is accumulating around the edges. On the front end where there are black spots, do you see any tiny cracks in PPF? Dirt could also be collecting there.
How long have you had PPF on the truck? If it’s cheap and failing, I highly recommend taking it...
I actually didn’t have any graphics on mine but if I did, I would tape of the graphics to make sure the polisher doesn’t ruin the graphics. If you are careful, you could polish close to the graphics but not near the edges or on top of the graphics. I highly recommend taping all the plastic...
Finally completed front and rear diff fluid change. Also swapped out transfer case fluid on a new to me truck. Surprisingly the rear diff fluid was clean while the front and transfer case fluid was dark.
Painted my rear diff cover while I was at it.
I’m not sure on cost since it varies by location and film brand. I actually installed my own PPF as DIY. It wasn’t bad at all since the lower sections are like rectangles and do not require any stretching of the film to install. The PPF comes precut and can be ordered online.
My rough estimate...
