Just installed a Prinsu on my Gen 2. Wind noise is present but minimal with the deflector and extra guard.
Also went with the optional handles/rock light mounts on the sides. Gonna throw some BD rock lights on there at some point.
Though TruckBrigade told me this would fit the Gen 2, it...
Well done!
I went the SDHQ mount and XL80 route, too.
I ended up clipping the weather pack ends and replacing with Deutsch DTPs. Reused the BD wiring harness to bridge the lights and then just ran my own to the factory up-fitters (AUX 3, for those curious) and the LVJ relay box.
Since...
Finally installed the ADD bumpers and BD lights this weekend!
Amazing how much foam, box, and pallet it takes to ship this stuff - that said, ADD did a phenomenal job with the parts and shipping!
I went with the AFE intercooler kit included with the ADD PRO V2 bumper. Installation was...
Amazing what some aluminum with holes can do for ground clearance!
The ADD bumpers, on the other hand, do absolutely nothing to help with getting out to some remote spots. And the +3 Deavers definitely won’t help, either ;)
Charging/CarPlay/Android Auto seems like it’d be a pain in the ass. Think it’s less than 16ft from the USB ports to there if you tick everything neatly?
Not really. The rack is ~85lbs, tent is ~120lbs, and the rest of the gear is ~50lbs - about the same as having two adults sit in the back.
I imagine I add anywhere from 100-200 extra points once I’ve loaded it all up with gear/food/etc.
Ha! I use it for the Naviks AV kit. I have an AppleTV in the truck (mostly because why not?) and you gotta trick the system to use the USB audio. It’s funny because I’ve heard parts of Old Town Road more times than any human ever should.
Installed the Ram mounts on the Built Right dash mount
I had initially considered re-routing the USB ports up to the dash, but this seems to do for now.
I have an OwlCam (almost shit myself when they almost went completely out of business earlier this year) and am just waiting for the...
As promised!
This was the drive from LA to Vegas plus a pit stop in Barstow for dinner.
Honestly, doesn’t seem like much of a difference. Could probably get the mileage up if it wasn’t a post-traffic drive (I averaged 80-85 the whole way up).
Been talking to the wife a bit regarding the whole fridge/cooler/battery situation. I’ve been eyeing that 73qt ARB Zero and figured I’d go solar with deep cycle since I, too, wouldn’t wanna touch main with it.
My Guatemalaness keeps me from wishing I had more clearance under the tent (I’m 5’7”...
Where are you stationed?
I got two pairs of the Built Right risers with Quick Fists

Or you can just get the Quick Fists from Amazon

Not yet. I’ve gotta start tracking the weight with all the additional ideas I’ve got floating around in my head to see when it’ll be necessary. It’s definitely coming, but so far it seems okay on stock
Nice. I keep a tarp and a bunch of bungees in the rear underseat storage alongside tools, first aid, reusable grocery bags, and a blanket.
Of all the things I thought to shove back there, some damn rope somehow got missed.
Good call, thanks!
Good eye, it’s the 10” steel.
Did you get the c-clamps or how are you gonna mount it? I just drilled holes into the lip of the bed and it’s on pretty solid with the 4 bolts.
Appreciate your feedback on these!
The CG is what I was gravitating towards, but I couldn’t seem to find a half-bed solution (nor could I find it with the other listed options)
I’m looking for a solid half-bed slide-out solution for my overlanding build.
I’ve got a 10” rack and tent so don’t want to go the Decked route because I’d lose all the space for cooler/cargo boxes/etc. I also don’t want to go higher on the rack because the Yakima SkyRise tent sits just below...
I actually just put the Built Right in today.
I’ve got a Ram X-Mount (I had one on my old Softail that worked great) for my phone and 67 Designs mount for the OwlCam en route.
I’ve been thinking about wireless charging options but I actually use CarPlay a bunch, so I’d be plugged in anyway...
