No offense, but I genuinely don't understand putting bottom of the barrel parts on a $70k+ truck. Maybe it's just me but I take a lot of pride in my truck and would rather spend the extra coin on high quality stuff for it.
This is a Raptor forum, my post was about Raptor brake kit options.
They specifically say they don't fit 17" OE beadlock wheels. The rear also isn't for electronic parking brake models, so none of those fit my truck.
Rotora's rotor is only 1mm thicker than stock, the overall thermal mass isn't really increased at all, pretty sure Alcon is in the same boat. Compound Mu is generally pretty tame for most street pad compounds too, so you're not dumping a ton of heat into the rotor unless your dragging the brakes...
Every single "big brake kit" on the market that fits under stock wheels uses a rotor that's smaller than stock. It won't go through rotors faster than any of those kits.
The Rotora option looks nice and even better it uses a common pad shape so there's plenty of compound options that can be gotten for a reasonable amount of money.
When I get closer to needing to replace my brakes in the next 15-20k I'm going to look into making myself a kit that uses the stock...
Another small update, picked up a Ford Performance catch can. Super quick and easy install, literally spent more time trimming the foam engine cover than installing the catch can. Didn't grab any pics, but there isn't much to see.
Changed my oil again today and got to use the MotivX filter...
Not terrible if you have the right tools. Basically just have to lower the diff a few inches by removing the two mounting bolts and you can squeeze the Spicer cover in.
I covered some details here: https://www.fordraptorforum.com/threads/new-guy-from-gen-1-to-gen-2.79929/post-1933943
This is boring but I felt worth sharing. I saw recently the FL500S oil filter has been revised and now has 14 flutes on the end instead of the old version's 30. I've been meaning to get an oil filter wrench for a while now since it's the easiest way to get the filter loosened (have tried strap...

Nonsense, it's the internet, people are going to speak their mind. Disagreements and discussion can breed thought and that's not a bad thing. You came here to learn so there's no need to apologize.
That's painful, but unfortunately not surprising with how the market is. 55k is definitely a price I would consider, 65-70k is certainly not. Still thankful I got my truck for sticker just a couple months before the market imploded.
The configurator on the Ford site shows the 37PP as having...
As someone who's frequented racetracks for years I see this somewhat regularly. Overtight lug nuts can cause them to shear but not tight enough does too. Once the nuts loosen enough the studs are loaded in shear instead of tension, shear strength of steel is generally around half of its tensile...
Everyone is going the Hyundai route, no more optioning out your vehicle, pick a package and a paint color. Legitimately the only non dealer installed options are the pano roof and decals (and orange beauty rings for the R). I'm flabbergasted that the only way to get beadlock wheels now is either...
Not disputing what should or shouldn't be done in regards to towing, but there is next to no information on that article. In nearly all cases I've seen of wheel studs shearing and the wheel separating from the vehicle it is *almost* always because the lug nuts weren't tight. Happens all the time...
I haven't kept too many tabs on the gen 3 stuff but this refresh seems like everything has gone a bit backwards save the dual valve shocks (which would be sweet to retrofit onto a gen 2) and the new R wheels, which I think look insanely cool, but also look like a c*nt to clean. Still mind...
Looking at 2018 F150s for sale and they all have the stamped F150 tailgate. Could have been a mid year change that Ford slipped in but I think since applique deletes are pretty uncommon it's not something that many Raptor guys really noticed.
Indexing plugs is generally for efficiency reasons when being used in OEM applications. The only other production car I'm aware of to use indexed plugs is the first generation Honda Insight. Honda stamps the cylinder head with a letter by each plug hole for what plug is needed to get the ground...
