Can't edit any more - but want to point out that ML3Z-3F791-HB should be used instead of ML3Z-3F791-BB as multiple users have pointed out problems with the BB PN. Otherwise I think my roundup post remains fairly accurate.
I'm not sure - I must have lost it. And I can't find it. I'm hoping @Wichadicha can provide some more info including the aftermarket replacement that he used. I'd love to get that looking tight again.
Interesting you should mention this. I and another user wound up with a trim gap where the long trim piece meets the passenger side flag. Driving me nuts. Not sure if it can be resolved.
I wanted to compile everything that I learned about the heated steering wheel retrofit - including some things I thought to be true but that I now know are not true (regarding the digital read out HVAC). Hopefully this post can/will serve as a repository of information for anyone looking to...
Not entirely true.
I had the same digital readout HVAC. Tried first just with Forscan. No luck. Wouldn’t accept programming.
Today I had access to FDRS. I was able to force programming. It’s working.
There is a way.
Ok. All done. Digital readout working. Needed FDRS when Forscan wouldn’t work.
Did ambient light while I was at it.
Have some extra parts that I collected on this journey. 2 HSW HVAC units (no digital temp readout) and 1 Raptor steering wheel. I’ll probably be posting them for sale soon if...
Same problem for me.
Latest suggestions in this thread:
1- use latest Forscan test version (2.3.51) - email Forscan dev to get access
2- update new hvac module with fdrs prior to programming with Forscan
3- give up and use non digital readout version
I intend to solve this by the end of the...
Despite the official guidance in Ford documentation stating that it should not be reused, I have an anonymous but highly reliable source from inside Ford (well above dealer maintenance level) who states that they frequently reuse these bolts. He said he wouldn’t think twice about reusing it...
23, 3.5L. 2.3.50. ForScan saw my truck and I was able to program the SCCM no problem. It sees the HVAC, but fails with an error when I try to write. I’ll email the developer and see if I can get the test version - it seems like those of you who got this to work all used that. That may just be...
This is awesome. I wish someone could explain why my digital temp HVAC wouldn’t accept programming but yours did? I’d love to get this working as I like the digital temp readout version better.
FWIW I did try this with the exact same parts as you. SCCM from BGGD. Digital HVAC PN ML3Z-19980-K...
