    Spare Tire Life Span

Interesting timing. I bought my 2012 133,000 miles ago and have never even lowered the spare, let alone used it. Using the valuable members of this Forum, I decided to change my rear diff cover and oil, and upgrade the cover to a Dorman unit ($130). Much easier to replace the cover with the...

PS Pump removal proscess...can anyone map it out?

BenBB, thanks for the help. I was able to get to that last bolt, but I had to remove the pulley. Had to use my smallest 10mm combo wrench, and it went a flat at a time. Definitely had to remove this one last of the 3, as I needed the room created by the pump as it "fell". That damn high...

PS Pump removal proscess...can anyone map it out?

I was feeling some slight vibration in the wheel, so decided to replace my stock (131K) pump. Man, what a hassle! I have the lines disconnected up top, removed the reservoir, removed the coolant reservoir/air cleaner assembly, and was able to see and remove the top pump bolt (10mm by the way!)...

    DIY 6.2 Spark Plug Change

Well, I did it! I replaced all 16 plugs, wires, all 8 coils, serpentine belt, oil and filter, air filter, and rotated tires. All Motorcraft except Six filters. Took a leisurely 10 hours, counting breakfast and lunch. Observations: - Summit 10" spark plug magnetic wobble was invaluable! - I...

    DIY 6.2 Spark Plug Change

Thanks everyone for your comments. CoronaRaptor, went with your suggestions for my '12 with 122,000 miles. I found a very big price difference for the Motorcraft coils between Napa, Autozone, O'Reilly, CarParts.com, Amazon, and RockAuto. I saved almost $200 going with RockAuto (wires, coils...

    GEN 1 Dealership transmission flush

99,000 miles; decided to follow all the advice and change my own tranny oil. Bought the Dorman pan. Overall, job went flawlessly, just like the videos. Lessons learned: should have went to Home Depot or Lowe's and purchased the cement/mortar tub that one reader suggested for a drain pan...
