Well, this supports what JP7 and I were told by some guys we met who had theirs fixed at the Vegas dealer. Although they told us that they only replaced the yoke.
Now all we have to do is get the dealers to research this and actually do the replacement.
I am not a fan of the graphics on a black Raptor. But..I didnt pay for 'em, so do what you think looks best. As mentioned by wbimota, if your gonna take 'em off, do it before you get that subtle change in paint color.
I dont let mine get under half a tank, mainly because I dont want to have a $100.00 heart attack. Condensation is not a problem here-it's way to dry. And yeah- Big J- I have found the same thing, when the pump shuts off-it's full, otherwise you end up throwing money away.
The one I use for my car trailer is about 2 1/2" from the pin hole to the top of the surface where the ball sets. I think your going to need the one that's in the middle of the two you show. I prefer the ball to be a bit high to compensate for the soft suspension on the Raptor. I have found that...
Wow! Someone who owns up and writes a check to cover their goof up!
This is right up there with when a sales guy from Ford dealer called me to tell me I gave him $100.00 to much (bills stuck together at the bank) when I bought a Ranger. I ending up buying 6 more vehicles from him.
I dont hate them, I just think it's another attempt by the eco nazis to convince us that a tiny little death trap is the next great thing. Maybe if I was crazy enough to live in SF or NYC where speeds & distance are not that great it would make sense. Here in the wide open west, not such a...
Good luck, but I think your screwed.
Even if it's in writing a lot of dealers still try to worm out of things. I take everything I want off of any vehicle before I hand it over to a dealer, you simply cant trust most of them.
Great story, espicially the "I hear Jeff make that little errr sound again" You got your own early warning system.
Sounds like a great trip, off roadin, shooting, dont get much better than that.
I just had a conversation with the S/M where I bought the truck- he hasnt heard anything about the magic yoke, so who knows. The good news is that one of head dogs at the dealership has a Raptor & guess what? It not only has the clunk, but creaky springs as well. So, if anybody's Raptor is going...
Before everyone gets all orgasmic over this, let's keep in mind that whatever is put on & in the yoke is also going to end up in the T-case lube. While it is a small amount, keep in mind that we have a shift on the fly t-case & that requires synchronizers. Synchronizers that depend on friction...
Thanks for the great write up and photos. This looks like the mud at Hollister hills- black gooey & smells like Sh#@ mud. Also looks like somene needs some recovery points added to his front bumper.
Well, yeah less is better, but I have seen some recovery points where you would be hard pressed to loop a strap through, plus I dont like looping straps around themselves-but that's just me.
Yeah, you found what I was afraid you were going to find, not a lot of Raptor friendly trails there. I couldnt remember if the wife and I had scouted that place or not. Apparently we had, as your write up confirmed it.
Chickenshit asshats seem to like odds like that- 5 to 1.
Too bad the witness wasnt armed like you are, that would have been a fair fight.
Me? .380 Walther PP goes where I go.
