Just wanted to update this for anyone wondering. The new HX Series with the Helmholtz Resonator fixed all my problems. Sounds deeper and 0 rattle, rasp, or drone. Love it now!
I have a factory muffler and resonator I’m about to sell. My SPD HX should be here Wednesday to complete my exhaust from header back. Wouldn’t include the factory tips though.
After reading several of Kyle’ threads about this setup I think something might be touching. I’m going to loosen everything up this weekend and then pull it all tight with ratchet strap and tighten from cats back and make sure no hangers are bound up. See what that does and go from there.
I can definitely tell a difference in the responsiveness and get up and go after the install. But my factory cats were clogged really bad so maybe this is what a regular Raptor feels like lol. I bought it with 30k miles on it and I’m at 105k now. My install at the dealership for the Cats and...
So looking on the SPD website and I guess they’re aware of it and make a specific muffler for this issue.
The main purpose of the Helmholtz resonator on this exhaust system is the in-cab noise/drone reduction without making the exhaust too quiet. By targeting and neutralizing specific drone...
Well damn... I made sure to keep my factory resonator, my cats were shot, but thinking about putting the factory resonator back on. Mine only does it on cold starts, not every time I start it, but it's like nails on a chalkboard to me. Really wanted to like this setup.
And thin sheet metal...
Quick question for anyone that owns this setup.
I got these both installed at my dealership because I just haven't had the time and my factory cats were clogged throwing CEL.
Picked up the truck and drove it around for a bit. First off I like the sound at WOT and the throaty sound when...
Like the title says want to sell my a 50” Rigid Radiance light bar. They do not come with a wiring harness but will include one for the none Raptor guys which includes the relay and switch. This bar has backlighting white. The wiring harness is hot and ground if you want the backlighting feature...
Finally got it all mounted up, the KC brackets didn’t match the holes in the bumper so I just happened to have a piece of steel in my garage that happened to line up perfect with the holes. Had to do some cutting and grinding and repainted the steel but got it all mounted up. Love it, and...
Removed the bumper and skid plate to install aftermarket. The bumper and skid are both in perfect condition. All hardware is included plus the tow hooks.
$500 picked up in Sherman TX (40 Minutes North of Dallas)
I really like it a lot. The adaptive cruise control relocation wasn’t too bad and looks a lot easier than what I’ve seen some of the other bumper install videos do. I did the full install in my garage in about 4 hours by myself. Except for the lights because I didn’t get the correct connectors...
Got the bumper finally mounted up last night. There is no way possible that a flat light would fit even if I drilled holes for the flat bar mounts. The bar hits the grill. Definitely need a curved bar.
I really don’t want to go through the hassle of sending the bar back. Will probably sell...
