Hey all, happy to join you. This is my new to me 2013, 66k, F150 Raptor. Looking for recommendations on running boards and winch bumpers.

I know I have a Gen2, but I went with a Warm 9.5xp, super powerful and ultimate durability, and it is the last fast line speed winch that isn't the M8274. It's low profile too, so it will fit just about anywhere.

    Overtemp?

I did nothing but change the thermostat, which brought down the operating temp slightly on the gauge (about 1mm in temp line thickness) and that's it. As for regularly seeing in city & hwy, I don't know, other than I don't see any concerns when passing on a hot day, towing other than over a...

    Bed gap

I ran my tonneau cover drain tubes into the stake holes, there was just enough room to bend the tubes into the top side of the stake holes, no drilling required.

    Aftermarket bumpers

Seems like most of the aftermarket bumpers have something that works, and is stated if it works with or additional bracketry, etc. is required if you have ACC. Just make sure you note it when you order a new bumper.

New gen 2 2018 owner from ca Slo 805

I went with the S&B with an oiled filter. I installed it when the truck had about 1500 miles from new and now have 73xxxx miles and when I pulled the filter to clean for the first time about 60k miles, I pulled the intake tube and cyclone baffle to check for any dirt getting by (I live in the...

    Any other Raptor work trucks?

Yup, I am a geologist and engineer, so I get myself into some very remote areas that require me to be able to get myself back out, hence the heavy bumpers and winch...and boy do I like the high speed desert site localities. I pack tools, well equipment, etc. with me, so a fair amount of weight...

    2018 or 2019?

Just based on not having Live Valve shocks, I would go with the 2018. Maintenance is best though.

    Brake system upgrades?

You can read reviews by plenty of folks about the Alcon Kits that love then, Nick from Apollo Optics even did a full video on stock brakes, stopping distances, etc., and Alcon brakes, makes me question going with Alcon, if I could just get past the price. With that, your best bet is to simply...

    Oh the stupid!!

I had a buddy with a Whipple SC on his F350 5.8L and people would try to come up to him in parking lots after he pulled in to give him the heads up that his power steering pump was going bad, '...that's what the whine you hear is..."

    Overtemp?

I have a 2018 and had the cam phasers done about 2 months ago and very similar condition afterwards, it would get up to 238 just passing someone on a 50 deg day. Fordtechone noted in another thread about thermostat, as the phaser dealer didn't know....jogged my memory about removing and...

    Recommendations for new Brakes?

Stainless steel brake lines are not snake oil, I have run them on motorcycles forever, trucks and Jeeps...and, when I worked automotive we could see rubber brake lines that were failing-you could depress the brake pedal and see the rubber lines swell, then when you let off the pedal the line...

    Salt on the Moon?? W T H?

I assume you are around Vegas, or likely east or northeast of Vegas, as you seem to post a lot from those areas? If so, you are likely in the upper geologic section of the Colorado Plateau. That white looks like Kaibab Limestone, you can lick if you want, there isn't anything in the rock that...

    ADD/FabFour Bumpers in Winter Weather?

I have a Buckstop front bumper that is aluminum with a steel frame reinforcement mount and the only thing that has any sembelance of corrosion is inside the large allen/hex head bolts.

    ADD/FabFour Bumpers in Winter Weather?

I have a Fab Fours premium rear bumper on my '18 and it has held up for the last 2 years it has been on the truck. I had the same bumper before the current since 2019 for a year before a rearend scraped the finish and I kept the take off, even sitting on the ground next to the shed it still...

    Recommendations for new Brakes?

Go premium materials in your stock calipers. The best option is to go with slotted rotors (don't buy the bling hype, cross drilled rotors will crack from the inside where the hole cannot be chamfered to reduce the potential to crack). Hi quality, made somewhere with a stable government is...

    Fox Shocks Replacement Options

I have a 2018 (so not the live valve) and just did the fronts with 70K miles. I researched a couple of online advertisers that rebuild (hammer was one, texas off road was another) and after shipping, etc. it was around $500 for the pair of fronts (like $900 for all 4), and found a local shop...

    Hard shifts between 3-4

There was a TSB issued in I think 2020 for a TCM update because of harsh shifting between 3-4 or 3-4-5, mine had it. When I had mine in the dealer for a mirror replace under warranty I had them do the TCM update and it fixed the shifting. I will look up the TSB.

    Tires and Wheels

I have purchased tires from Tirerack.com for my '18, running the General Grabber X3 load E in 35x12.50r17. I have actually ordered tires from them a couple of times for my wife's car too, did great. As for wheels, I purchased a full set of 4 OE wheels off craigslist for $350 for my winter tires...

    MIFFED! ...pesky neighbors!

Goof off works great, is quick and evaporates pretty quick so it won't sit on the paint (a cheaper alternative to Good Off is simple charcoal bbq lighter fluid, but Goof Off is a little less concentrated so I always stay with the Goof). Also, anything that takes off the sap, tar, etc. will strip...

    Gen 2 overheating(?)

Thanks for your inputs, as I had this exact thing happen to me as well after having the cam phasers done last month. While the dealer was at it I went ahead and gave them the Full-Race radiator I had been putting off installing, so it was all done at once. I got it back on a Wednesday night...

    2019 Performance Upgrade Question

You should consider an intake/filter. You want to upgrade to a larger cone filter f ok r the surface area of the filter, as the OE filter is undersized and already chokes the engine of air. You can get an enclosed filter box, lots make them (e.g. S&B, etc), which will not increase noise, but...

    FabFour Bumpers?

I have the FabFours premium rear bumper on my 2018 Raptor and it is great build quality, fit finish, etc. I have actually had 2, my truck was rear-ended with the OE bumper not too long after buying it and hadn't gotten around to putting an aftermarket rear bumper on, so purchased it during the...
