Port injection as the 3.5 eco has, will keep your intake valves clean and not allow them to get cocked up. But I see his other point in keeping the blow bye extra clean and scrubbing it with a catch can. It could further reduce oil fumes entering your IC and intake or polluting your intake...
Welcome and congrats on the truck. Yeah can’t say I have heard of many start button problems, but you never know. Do verify the battery is good. These systems can be touchy if voltage levels do not hold steady.
Let’s get some truck pics up too.
According to @FordTechOne the ‘20s did receive the latest revision of the parts used to correct the problem. I can only gather they didn’t get the latest code? Honestly there has been several revisions it seems until they finally manages to correct the problem, regarding parts and the latest code.
Unless maybe your in a ‘20 it would need to be done. As stated above it’s preventative and puts an extended warranty on phaser repair. It’s even listed as a recall in FordPass and you should have received documentation about it by mail. Maybe your dealer needs to see it in black and white...
Some like it shiny, some like it dull. The weave on those interior pieces look nothing like most common 2x2 twill matte finish as most people would recognize. So this weave looks plainly uncommon. It’s also a very dry matte finish. I remember A Ford engineer commenting, that we wanted to...
Sounds like you got a handle on launching. It’s tough to hookup a stock truck in 2WD. Sport offers great launches out of the hole. Almost stupid how they just get up and go. Soon you’ll think about stage 2 lol.
Very true. My old Camaro still has a carb on it(started life with fuel injection). I go back and forth about adding EFI. But the simplicity of it is something to enjoy. Love high tech, but can appreciate old simplicity that works. One day I will swap the spool out of the 9” lol
That’s true. So a Raptor, Limited and Platinum trim have to inherit the same system designed for an XLT etc. and that goes for about all the other systems not specific to that trim level.
Yes it’s pretty much junk for anything serious. I tried with a retrofitted driver and amp to power it. You get some added bass but SQ is terrible. Looks like under the seat will be the only option for me.
I’m used to it also. I however think this small added feature, would be of big convenience. I access the rear first in many cases. Oh well it is what it is.
Did Ford also put this sensor on the back doors? Is it one sensor on the outside to lock and you need to touch the inside of the handle to unlock? Gen 2 never had a way to open the back doors unless you touched the front. Def a need on the back.
I was actually out golfing some months back and we were paired up with a nice couple. He owns a larger company that produces injection molded moving/storage bins and 100’s of other items. His problem he told me was staffing(had plenty of resin on hand). He couldn’t keep enough people in the...
You must have been getting more mpg’s last tank for the truck to calculate this fill up to be higher than usual.
When do the refineries switch to winter blend gas? Can’t remember which blend is actually the better summer or winter for power lol
Welcome and congrats. You ordered the factory Rigids or aftermarket? Can’t tell by the pic but the factory equipped trucks also have the mounting housing too. Stick your head under there and take a peek. 50-50 chance Ford is wiring all the trucks the same even without included options.
You can now do the procedure yourself with the Forscan app. Or you will need a dealer or a competent shop that has the software.
There is a big thread on this and had a sticky about the procedure. See if you can find that and if that helps.
