That is an awesome story. Absolutely love rally, had no idea that was possible. What was the loophole? Any coverage of that on TV? (think I have the Motors TV coverage of Mexico 2010 on the media PC, but don't remember seeing it)
I actually like Honda quite a bit (favorite Japanese brand)...but that 3.5L? V6 seems to stink MPG-wise when put in a heavier vehicle. I've heard of some people getting Raptor-type numbers out of year 200__ Odyssey minivans, while other people with the same van get close to the advertised item...
I'd love to get one of these, they look great and they're free if they deliver a 1MPG improvement. Don't think they'd work too hot with motorcycles and mountain bikes though, I'd hate to have the rear window blocked so frequently (and lose the backup camera with gate down).
I think a lot of people get ticked off by the current "green" movement because there's a tremendous amount of misinformation, i.e., bullshit, mixed into it. As my previous post indicated, I'm annoyed by the Raptor being included in the dirty dozen. Per mile, your Raptor emits fewer smog forming...
Try to get one as your next rental car. They're entertaining in an extremely different way. kglesq (brother) had one as a rental and I tried it out too. The damn gas mileage display is basically a video game. Try to drive and keep the car in the efficiency zone. It's nontrivial, and kind of...
I love the fact how modernly the only "vehicle emission" which matters is CO2. CO2 is of course directly proportionate to mileage, as ideal combustion of hydrocarbon fuel results in H2O+CO2.
CO2 is a "greenhouse gas", but it is not a smog-forming pollutant.
Check out this list of cars:

Hope this helps those of you who have hard disks with thousands of tracks connected to your Sync setup...
On the Nav screen above, in the lower right corner, it says:
User Track Elapsed Time
38 of 40 4:03
Completely useless information. Wouldn't it...
Good to hear it, would love to know what the latest version number is.
While we software developers work very hard to be as incompetent as possible, phone support is tasked with ensuring full customer enragement. :jester:
Good luck. I'm far from an expert on how navigation stuff works, but from what I've seen they love to spend a tremendous amount of effort on locking down their precious map data and very little effort on ensuring that customers are serviced.
This of course has absolutely no effect on piracy...
Full-time Linux user here since 1995. Second choice is Mac (use it for a laptop). And I personally think Microsoft Sync is the best infotainment system I've ever seen. When it came out, I shared your opinion, but no longer upon seeing it / using it. It certainly has its warts...for instance...
Droid2 works fairly well for me with Sync.
Have had situation where BT dropped on incoming call (very annoying, required phone reboot).
Have had situation where phone would not stay paired for more than 30 seconds. Required reboot of phone. Turning bluetooth off and on on the phone was not...
In my opinion, chrome/polished wheels won't work on a Raptor, regardless of the design. Pretty much need to be painted (and dark).
Also wouldn't do 20s, you're going to need the sidewall if you want to have a lot of the fun the truck was designed for.
Welcome!
Lots of expensive high end items in this thread. I think I may even actually be able to afford the lights. :jester:
Any word on whether they're going single or double row on these in the larger sizes? I'm going to guess these are the same optics as in the Dually D2?
I'm...
I've been doing a fair amount of bluetooth-related software development lately for work, but don't know much about "A2DP" which is the Bluetooth audio protocol. But just looking it up;
A2DP
I'm just skimming this, but it looks like the music player (phone) is sending the music to the truck...
I can imagine a lot of people choose to consolidate all debt around a vehicle when they get a 3% loan. Why pay 5%-10% on other debts when you can use the sale of your previous car to pay them all off, and then get on a 3% program that gets rid of the new car in 5 years? Short of a home loan...
Growth rate looks fairly exponential, good to see it. When I signed up this place was pretty light on traffic, but over the past couple months its picked up to the point where there's way too much for one person to read.
Sounds like the typical Randy experience, have nothing but good things to say about that guy!
Have noticed mine's a bit lazy on the downshift. I had to tune my old truck (5.3L GMC) to give me what I wanted when going from a 65-75 cruise to WOT....appears the same will be necessary with the...
