I have no doubt they are worse for the environment. The other issue is the folks driving those things. It used to be that folks in Volvos were the crappy drivers. But I cannot even count the number of times I've had to avoid someone "driving" a Prius who should not be behind the wheel. The only thing worse than a Prius is the "Smart Car". That name had to be a joke or "Death Box" was taken? :)

I love the fact how modernly the only "vehicle emission" which matters is CO2. CO2 is of course directly proportionate to mileage, as ideal combustion of hydrocarbon fuel results in H2O+CO2.

CO2 is a "greenhouse gas", but it is not a smog-forming pollutant.

Check out this list of cars:

Honda Insight (Hybrid)
Toyota Camry
Toyota Corolla
Nissan Versa
Honda Civic
Mazda 2
Toyota Yaris
Smart Fortwo
Scion iQ
Mini Cooper

Want to know what they all have in common? They all emit MORE smog-forming pollutants, *per mile*, than a 6.2L Raptor. The 6.2L Raptor is a bin 4 vehicle, these are all bin 5. Source:

Understand the Smog Score

California Smog Score 5 (EPA bin 5), includes those compacts: Drive Clean

California Smog Score 6 (EPA bin 4), includes Raptor: Drive Clean

(you have to select 2011 model year on each of the above)

Global warming might harm the planet, might harm us, and we might be responsible.

Air pollution will harm the planet, will harm us, and we are responsible.

I think I would feel pretty stupid at this point if I had bought an ugly POS Prius to save the environment.

BTW, this is still my plan for my Raptor's personalized plate: GLBLWMR

I actually had that SAME plate reserved for my old 71 Corvette (ahhh the smell of exhaust) but cancelled it because I was afraid it would get vandalized out here in Kalifornia... :)

GLOBAL WARMER!!!

Awesome. I didn't post this in a negative Tone. I just was sharing. I told my "eco-friendly" friend about it as he was riding in my Raptor, and he said if he wasn't riding in the Lap of Luxury he would hate me.

Fueling a Prius is a totally worthless use of petrified dinosaurs... might as well burn em in something like a Raptor ... just sayin ...
