Hello Mark,
A factory 2013 Roush Stage II with 133k. It’s been a great truck. No nightmares. Only issue so far is needing to replace one of the three yellow LED’s in the grill. Also, with the JDM tune, I’m now averaging 15.2 mpg (mostly highway miles).
Also, more importantly, thank you for your...
...and the NVH suppression that occurs in the intake manifold versus compression along the spatial reduction of the cavity along the rotors of the screw. BTW, I’m a fan of both TS and Roots depending on the application. Nothing is perfect at everything.
Agreed with these past posts regarding email tunes. I’d argue aside from likely speeding, the real/street data logging provides a more accurate loading for the tune. Provided the tuner is good, this should be no different than my previous tuner doing the initial tune on the dyno and “dialing it...
I’m with CoronaRaptor. Once the Roush tune was eliminated, zero issues and it actually gets decent gas mileage. Once it’s warmed up, it will get ~18mpg at 65mph on a level highway. Going back to the factory size made a difference (from 80lb Nitto RG 37x12.50 to BFG KO2 315/70/17...which are a...
I had issues as well. It would throw a belt (at best) or rip the tensioner arm completely off every single time I was at WOT in 4wd Hi on a 1-2 shift and once from a 2-3. I called VMP and removed a ribbed idler pulley and got a tune from Justin. No issues since.
It’s unnoticeable unless in boost. Even then, it’s not loud by any measure. If your truck is well maintained, I wouldn’t blink at adding an SC. My truck has 125k, all supercharged.
Definitely avoid the rev limiter. Shift points are one thing, bouncing off the rev limiter isn’t good.
if the oil pump fails and somehow you would immediately be able to shut the engine off (which I believe the oil pressure sensor on these trucks senses and will shut off the engine when it...
Stock oil pump. I don’t quite redline it, though let it run through the gears to the shift point at WOT.
Tune is from VMP. It’s great. Improve throttle response, power and fuel economy. JDM is very reputable as well.
125k here on a serialized Roush Stage II. The last 25k have been with a 72mm pulley and tune as well. Likely flywheel hp is ~630-640. No issues. Avoid wheel hop!
Ok. Quick check. Mpg actual on the drive to work and back is 14.9mpg. Manual calculation but again, it’s not a like vs like. Fuel content (neat vs E10). Tune (relaxed NOX vs AF/R...etc.), decent DA vs incredible DA...there is a difference, just not as significant. Regardless, I want to note it...
If I were to purchase the kit aftermarket, I would have went Whipple. The TVS is nice, but the 2.3 vs the Whipples available, there is certainly a difference. Whipple also has improved reliability of the earlier twin screws (K-B had more of the issues with rotor tolerances). The TVS is very...
I’ll make an effort to capture actual mpg the next tank. Just to clarify, those numbers that are raising some brows are a two-way ten mile drive between my house and my work, which happens to be nearly level. There is less than 10’ of elevation change on the drive. This is going off of the...
On those no. Off the computer estimate. On some individual tanks, I can only recall doing it twice. When I first put the tune on and began blending and maybe another month in, which would have been last September or so. They were relegated to my trip to work and back which was highway driving at...
