Crossovers are mounted under the dash on each side. Essentially they are tucked up into the dash just behind where you would remove the side vent covers.
Totally invisible without removing trim pieces, but easily gotten to. Making adjustments or removing them is a pretty easy 5 min job.
Yea, it was nerve racking, I'm not one to hire things like this out or release total control but I trusted them. I travel full time and didn't even want to think about the time that it would have taken me to tackle this.
The sound quality is phenomenal, the Hertz were initially too bright for...
So here are the details of the actual integration of the OEM amp. It turns out that the factory system isn't horribly EQ'd. There are many OEM systems that are much worse. My last install was in a Mercedes and the OEM EQ was crazy. I fought that one for awhile, and it was a deciding factor in...
I wasn't going to post up any build details becuase I didn't go all out, the majority of this install was focused quality and stealth, but my installers found out several key point of information that is important to anyone integrating with the factory system...
Background - When I purchased...
I agree, Iwas lucky, it's hard to find good shops anymore. I know you have to see your share of half hearted attempts at installs these days. I'm not sure who the NE/Virginia rep is for JL, he did visit their shop while this was going on. I was halfway across the country during the install. I...
I'm going to post up my system details in the next day or two. My truck just came out of the shop after spending two months of planning with one of the countries top installers.
Went with Hertz Audio speakers, custom sub enclosure with a shallow mount Alpine sub, and full integration with the...
Now if Metra or PAC would come out with something that would allow us to replace the factory NAVMand handle the air conditioning controls that would be great. I've invested a lot in a nice SQ install but the factory HU is now the limiting quality factor.
Yes, if you a do a search in this forum there are two long thread that I know that have the part numbers.
I'm not at home, otherwise I would post the part number for you.
I used a fabric dye pen. I will take a picture tomorrow and post it for reference. The brand I found came in several colors and tip sizes. I colored each thread in sections and wiped off the excess to protect the leather. After everything dried, I cleaned the lid with Lexol and then conditioned...
The concept of upgrading our center console lid to a leather version has been covered many times so I won't discuss that, but I took it one small step further... After upgrading mine, I wasn't completely happy with the gray stitching. I tried to convince myself that it looked good with the...
You're right, it is definitely a numbers game, with figures above your only at 2% of the total production. Most limited production runs are considered "limited" in the < 4% range if I remember correctly.
I still like being rare though!
Interesting article. I like to hear that Ford and the Raptor is so succesful, but I also like the exclusivity of this truck... I would hate to see too many of them driving around to be honest.
Just so you aren't surprised, there aren't any backup sensors. It really surprised me when I found out. This is the case on the 2012's at least, not sure if sensors were added on the '13s...
Guys, DO NOT order from the eBay shop listed. I did and it was a complete waste of $20...
The cuts looked like they were done with a dull knife, none of the them were even straight. To top it off, the letter sizes are inconsistent. The "F" was too tall, and the "D" was even close.
The "D" was...
I did the reflector delete kit. It's clean and matches the mirror perfectly.
I do wonder though, if it would look better giving it a smoked look. My front sides are blacked out on my headlights so I stuck with the blacked out look.
