My 19 supercab has 15k on it and developed the cam phaser rattle 2k miles ago. After researching here and watching videos on YT on what's involved I just don't want to risk the truck not coming back 100% after the engine is torn apart just to get rid of a 3 second noise.
After talking to my...
I agree. I keep reading folks saying extended warranties aren't worth it even on some of the flood ford threads. Seems like it would more than pay for itself after one big time repair involving the trans / engine. I recall my local dealer saying the cam phaser service bill is in the neighborhood...
I have the exact same setup as you OP.
I now have to drive over speed bumps slower to not get that gnarly clunk. My buddy who helped me do the front and rear springs re-checked the torque everywhere and it's all normal.
I agree with others theory that by the front end lifting 1.7", you are...
I live in CA which is on fire basically every year around this time. When the AQI is high I keep my climate control on recirculate, although I'm not sure how much it really helps.
I've been thinking of getting something like this to keep in my AC outlet...
Over the years it's always sounded to me like the over the air / auto wifi updates don't work. I just finished mine up manually via usb and it works fine. Definitely really blue compared to 3.3. Seems like some new options when clicking into certain menus like apps. Honestly though those could...
Last year I had a bad chip repaired on the passenger side. A week ago I took another serious rock strike and after inspecting it and the previous chip I realized the repair was falling apart and webbing out.
Time to get the whole windshield replaced. Where have you guys had good luck? OEM is...
I ended up in this exact same position when I first did my Eibachs, 1/2" nose high. After 3000+ miles the Eibachs haven't really settled at all. After doing Deaver +3s a month ago I have to say the truck rides simply amazing. Luckily I drive a scab so 35s already look right to me... for now.
This is probably a silly question, but wouldn't a blow-off valve help with turbo wear? My understanding is without a blow-off valve the unused boost left in the system goes backwards into the turbo again?
I officially have the Eibach / Deaver +3 combo on my 19 scab, it honestly should have been the very first mod I went for. Before I did both I didn't think the suspension really needed to be upgraded, but man the gains are big if you're a mostly road going driver. Everything about the truck feels...
My bet is a few years from now scabs will have lost less of their value than screws. Certainly more scarce, faster, handles better, easier to park, big enough cab for those who aren't hauling people or kids around. I absolutely love mine so maybe I'm biased.
Agreed I have the SW bracket and that thing is about as well made as you could hope for. Only thing I wish is a quick disconnect like the CJ Pony one. Carwash robots don't like that SW bracket, ask me how I know.
Honestly both are top notch. If you take your time and prep the leaf pack with something like Amsoil HD MP, you'll have little to worry about. After install get under your truck once a year, clean them up real nice and touch up with the same metal prep.
