I know this was originally an old thread, but since its up again,... Questions for those using Hi Lift jacks;
Does the tow rings hold the weight of the truck if used as a lifting point?
And what attachment do you use on the jack to lift it up?
I have about 3 of these here, so I'm not...
Thanks for the tips. I checked the bed to cab gap when I bought it, and its even. And no evidence of hard off roading anywhere else either. I suppose it makes sense that the "Raptor Lean" would be more pronounced with the softer springs, but I sure like the ride much better.
Im hoping Max...
Evening Y'all,
I installed Gieser Bros progressive front springs and now have a lean in the back to the drivers side. Still has stock rear leafs & bumps. It may have been there before, but not as noticeable for sure. I bought the truck used, so Im not sure how hard it was driven before I got...
Merry Christmas to the whole FRF community. And a big Merry Christmas and Thank You to those serving our country who cant be home with their families. We all appreciate your sacrifice.
Since this thread has evolved into a review thread, I found my truck sits higher on the passenger side (without anyone in the drivers seat) since I installed them. Makes since after reading Chris' post on the difference in spring rates. Anyone else seen similar results? Im going to do some...
Continuing on my audio upgrade install & sound deadening project. Just finished installing Exodus Anarchy mid bass drivers in the rear doors late last night and extensive sound deadening. Next up is the front doors, but have to order more CLD deadener first.
I just did a front spring swap on mine with a floor jack & stands. You will need some taller than normal car stands though. I had a heavy duty set from China Depot (Harbor Freight) that were cheap and worked fine.
You will need some big metric sockets to get the bottom shock bolt out. Size...
Sorry , no before and after pics or measurements. But the truck sits level now. I always liked the feel of the rear leafs over the front on smaller bumps, now they feel the same. It does have more brake dive, but I expected that.
Got them in and didnt have much of a chance to take it out yet. But just the usual speed bumps, curbs and other urban hazards seem much more compliant than before. Initial reaction is I'M STOKED! Cant wait to really take it out and give them a test.
I dont know how much the alignment...
Mine came in Friday afternoon, but they weere shipped from 10 miles away, so I started the install yesterday. I have the new springs on both shocks now and ready to go back in today. Word to the wise; These springs are some strong MoFo's to put on. I ended up using 4 strut spring compressors...
Just got a shipping notice too. Thanks Max for putting this together.
Wyn, if you are seeing this, comp him some springs man. Gieser Bros can afford it.
It would be my dedicated beer cooler at back yard BBQs and our trips to the Az mountains. It would replace my multi repaired igloo cooler. Bound to hold up better!
I dont know the exact amount, but not all that much. Im guessing about 2o lbs in CLD (tiles or Dynamat type Butyl) I added Mass loaded vinyl sound barrier too, which is heavier at 1lb per sq.ft. Even so, I added 2 4'x8' rolls which may add another 20-30 lbs at most.
About the difference...
Thanks Gwpfan, I did read Don's site (Sound Deadener Showdown) and took a lot of tips from it. While I didnt go for the CLD tiles, I did cover as much as practical with Regular Cld and did use his methods for doing a noise barrier with MLV.
I just bought a set of PHD 6.5's for the front...
Just saw they are in, Thanks Bro. Im in Phoenix and work 5 minutes away from Geiser Bros shop. Is Wyn out of the Phoenix shop or at another location? Do you have a price for local pick up without shipping? It would be eaiser for me to just stop by and pick them up.
Well I finished the floor & back panel. Ran out of time and didn't do the roof before my weekend trip. I did cover the vents with polyfill which still allows air flow. It may or may not help with the noise, but it can't hurt.
I took the truck to the mountains last night and noticed a sizable...
Thanks Noah, Any suggestions for the back panel vents? I read on another forum that someone blocked them off and it helped a lot, but Im not going to do that. Any thoughts on using leftover polyfill over them? Obviously not as good as blocking them, but it may help somewhat and still allow...
Thanks all,
Im tackling the floor now. I have all the seats out and the back panel covering. I was also wondering what to do about the vents too. I have some poly fill from a speaker project left over, so I may try to make covers with that for the vents. It wont kill all the sound, but it may...
Good Vetrens Day afternoon all,
I have my back seat out of my 11 Scab and an getting ready to do some deadening before installing my audio system. My plan was to do the back panel and the rear part of the floor. I'll do the doors when I upgrade speakers later.
In general, the truck is fairly...
Thanks Dude. Noah stopped by on his way to Tx and showed me the way to reach around the back and do it, but my paws are a bit large to get back there. They felt like Hamburger when I was done trying it.
