Well I officially made the switch. Was able to find the right truck and strike a deal this weekend. Picked up this morning - first impressions are much different than driving a raptor obviously but it drives very nice and the diesel is just a torque monster
I will miss my raptor though so it...
I drive a ton - minimum 70 mile commute to begin with every day and usually towing either an enclosed 4 place snowmobile trailer or a boat on the weekends. those are usually a minimum of 200 miles each direction, as much as 550 miles each direction. I think I would be using it enough to keep it...
@CMSU22 it is a $10k option to go diesel
@zombiekiller good point I was watching a guy on youtube that did one and it did make all the difference.
@SVTTrooper good stuff and thanks for the real world feedback.
It certainly has a bit of raptor off road appeal to it as it rolls off the lot, I...
I tow around 5k-6k fairly often - of my 46k miles accumulated on my Raptor, 15k had a trailer behind it. I agree on the gasser/diesel argument I was just wondering if that new 7.3L had the grunt required to make these feel "fun" to drive. I am 99% sure I will go diesel I just have some worries...
I see a few Raptor to Tremor posts...I am likely going this route as well
Do you regret it??? Did you go gas or diesel and why?? I am thinking of making the switch to a diesel Tremor. I had some recent major issues with my Raptor that may force me to move on from it unfortunately because I love...
Like others have said, depending on the type of snow...you can push through some pretty deep stuff. I take a few unmaintained roads to get to some snowmobile cabins and I have had the light fluffy stuff over the front bumper all while pulling a 4 place sled trailer. Take all the nannies off and...
Sorry to hear your troubles - sounds like the dealer isn't doing it correctly. I had the issue with my 18 when I first got it and had to have my FIL hold the door shut on thanksgiving morning, I was so embarrassed with my brand new $70k truck. It wasn't even a ford bulletin yet but my dealer...
I think the bosch are around $30 per side which isn't cheap but I have found those to be the best yet by far - let us know what you think of them. Michelin and Rain-X best offerings both sucked for me. Left streaks and chattered across the windshield.
I am also surprised at the weight on that trailer. Do you carry 2450-2750 lbs worth of cargo in it?
I tow an enclosed 4 place snowmobile trailer that runs about 5000 fully loaded. I use timbrens when I tow. I only run them when I am towing though, the truck is terrible with them in and...
Since I have driven about 25k miles on Toyo MTs since that post - I will give you my honest 25k mile review. I may have 1 less MPG but these tires out last and out perform the BFG KO2 in every sense. I am also goosetuned and drive very well spirited so my assessment might be different than...
Mine has been extremely weak since day 1 I just assumed that is how they were. Disappointing. I may have to take a closer look as I am out of warranty now.
No the turbos are pretty much for Summits only and have no benefit at low elevation. You don't see them in the northeast, pretty much just out west in the big mountains. They are sweet though!
