I felt having all the lines replaced was less to do about flex and more to do about pedal feel and durability over the lifetime of the hoses.
Leaving the rubber hose in just the last segment of the brake lines leaves an area in the system that could now be exposed to more pressure since the...
I did a set on a 2012 that was relatively straight forward. It should only involve removing the old lines and replacing them then doing a bleed. The only part that got us hung up for a minute were the lines that mount from the bracket under the bed to the rear end. It seemed like we didn't have...
I got the second letter too.
I am still on the fence about bringing it in at all. My truck is running great and I don't want the dealer mucking around under my hood.
My commute to you would be on the long side but I hit up Anza Borrego every year at the Tierra Del Sol festival. If you don't mind having someone on the list that will be mostly a lurker but every once in a while show up, I would be interested in being on it.
Not sure if you are just looking for Gen2 racks, but here is my DIY post from a few years back for my Gen1. If you are going to make your own then I think it is still applicable.

I think what you are saying totally makes sense. The B&M dipstick is really flexible and is a steel braided line though; I don't believe engine and transmission movement would cause any issues. My greater concern is how close the braided line sits next to the exhaust. I would hate to think I...
If I knew PA made a mount for the dipstick tube before I purchased the B&M one, I would have probably gone that route since I feel that PA products are pretty well made. It would be cool if someone could post a picture of the PA dipstick when they get it installed. (And a picture of the end of...
The instructions for the B&M dipstick also have you mount the tube to the firewall. The ground screw you mention can be seen in the picture below; There is a plastic lip on the top of the firewall which I felt would limit access to the tube though. I chose to mount it in the way I did to make it...
I installed the B&M dipstick along with the AFE Power transmission pan recently. I wanted to have easy access to the dipstick and position it in a way that would make it easy to fill the pan so I fabricated a bracket that bolts to the top shock tower using the existing bolt for the coil over...
Anyone thinking of going with the wider IWE rings through RPG, place your orders early. I have been waiting on my order for over two months now. RPG is just a reseller for these rings and are beholden to RCV's schedule. Sort of frustrating.
Is this the Fox 3.0 shocks you have?
It looks like it has a preload ring at the top. If it isn't bottomed out, you should be able to unscrew it upwards to drop your frontend a little. I wouldn't expect you'd get much more than an inch or two out of it though.
Be sure to use a coil compressor...
It looks like you have a Baja Designs lightbar. Those buttons look like momentary buttons. Try turning the light bar on then pressing the buttons. It might be a high/low setting or a flash setting depending on the light bar.
This might be something that others have already been doing for years so apologies if this is old news. After a few times swapping tires onto beadlock wheels, I figured out this time saving move that I thought I would share.
It used to take me quite a bit of time to put anti-seize on each bolt...
That is crazy. This looks like it sets up for catastrophic failure for offroad use. The internal fins to direct the oil is pretty sweet though. But I agree, this has no place for offroad use.
Sorry for the delay, it has been a rough morning.
I measured the width and the old tires are indeed 12.5" wide. The new ones are 11.5"
I will measure them again after I mount them on the wheels, perhaps the stretching that happens once the tire is seated on the bead will push out the sides a bit.
Hey FRF'ers check this out. After too many beverages on memorial day I decided it was time to post a random thread to the tire forum. In the picture below, a stack of used 35x12.50R17 Toyo MTs (about 3000 miles) against a new set of 37x12.50R17 Toyo MTs.
I found it interesting that the old...
I posted this about eight months ago and am still waiting on part three of this series.
I just installed the Ford Racing rear diff cover last weekend based on what I saw in the transparent diff cover test. Install was very easy and the fit and finish of the diff cover was good. It weighs much...
I tested my assumptions against the Internet. Thanks again @GCATX for pointing me in the right direction. This article explained it the best for me.
"These days, tire ply rating is more commonly expressed as 'load range.' The days of cotton layers or plies forming the internal construction of...
That is very interesting. My assumption about how many "ply" relates to sidewall thickness sounds incorrect based on your experience. Thanks for the information!
I have been very impressed with the 10 ply 35x12.5r17 Toyo MT while offroading. I can say without exaggeration that they held up after taking a boulder hit at 40mph which wrecked my passengers side frontend and ground a deep grove into the side wall due to the UCA rubbing against it. After...
I am running 37" Goodyear MT/R with the Fox 3.0 coils in the front riding at slightly higher than mid perch. Rear is on RPG HD springs which pushes the rear up higher than stock too. I come in just shy of 6' 8"
I think it would work but it will probably be very close.
I have two items available on Craigslist which I am posting here for better coverage. Buyer would be expected to cover shipping costs but I would knock 10% off the price for FRF members.
Thanks for looking!
