    DIY 6.2 Spark Plug Change

Thanks. I meant the spark plug that Ford recommends - Motorcraft. My 2011 manual doesn't give the plug number but gives a gap of .039 - .043 inch. Things change - Ford Motorcraft Transfer Case Fluid, for example. What's the Motorcradt plug number that Ford is specifying for GEN1 Raptors...

    Think this will work?

I think I might have a reasonably decent guess at answering my own question. If you hit the order button you will be advised that free worldwide shipping is offered. I think that 1. That means that it isn't manufactured in the US, and 2. It's fairly likely to be made in China. Although the two...

Who invents crap like this? This is right up there with chia pets, cabbage patch kids, fidget spinners, etc.

    GEN 2 Water storage tubes

Well, whatever floats your boat. But a canteen of water and a microfiber cloth works fine, and so do baby wipes and similar products.

What makes a Raptor? It was designed by the SVT team. But you're getting mighty close!

First Gen 1 Issue I’ve had..

I have experienced this on a different truck. I've never run an oiled air filter on any vehicle since that occurred.

The V6 Ford Raptor Outsold The Original V8

My understanding is that "military grade" is a marketing term. I have seen "military grade" flashlights, sunglasses, etc. marketed on TV thousands of times, and after 36 years of working as a career civilian employee of the Department of the Army, I have never seen or known a soldier to own or...

The V6 Ford Raptor Outsold The Original V8

Yes sir, I am quite aware that welding any grade of aluminum alloy requires different equipment and techniques than welding steel. I mentioned malleability, though, because my interest in Ford's aluminum alloy involves more than welding. If indeed Ford's aluminum alloy is more malleable than...

The V6 Ford Raptor Outsold The Original V8

Why, not at all! After he wrote, "Since you seem to know so much, why don't you tell me?" I think that I can ask a simple question a second time just in case he missed it the first time. (shrug) I have absolutely no ulterior motives here. I do some amateur welding, and if there is an...

The V6 Ford Raptor Outsold The Original V8

Please don't be unnecessarily obnoxious. It is clear from my post #14 in this thread - the one you responded to - that I don't know. "Military grade aluminum" doesn't tell anyone anything, as I am sure that you understand better than most. So, if you don't mind, please let us all know what...

It's the bridge under the 12th Street overpass down by the river. What grade of aluminum are we talking about, please?

The V6 Ford Raptor Outsold The Original V8

No, the important part is that aluminum body panels can't be repaired in the normal body & fender fashion and must be replaced, and that the cost associated with that for an off-road vehicle might prove to be pretty significant.

Gen 1 Mag-Hytec Rear Diff Cover

If I didn't already have that differential cover on my GEN1, I'd buy it. It's an excellent product.

    GEN 1 Front diff service

Go here: https://drainplugmagnets.com I don't recall the diameter, length, or thread pitch. I have Dimple magnetic plugs in the Raptor's transfer case, the oil pan of my wife's Ford Edge, and in my riding lawn mower. It's an excellent product.

    GEN 1 Front diff service

I don't remove the cover, I pump the old fluid out with a fluid pump. Done it that way three times with good success. I replaced the factory plug with a magnetic plug that works like a champ.

    B and M shifter on 2010

See if you read the product description the same way I do. It says that they use a momentary switch for the tow/haul function. That should mean that if you want to stay in tow/haul, you will have to physically hold that button down. Take your finger off that button to adjust the radio or take...
