I am not a fan of the trombone exhaust since it actually does make it sound like an unruly 7th grade trombone aficionado. When I came to the site today, this ad popped up. It make me look at it, and now I think this could be a possible fix. Seems cheesy, but video actually makes it look like a possibility.

It's a perfect solution for the mall crawler. You could even program it to make revving noises while you sit in the Starbucks drive through or at a stoplight. Even better would be to put it in a Prius and make people jealous of your loud V8 noises.

I think I might have a reasonably decent guess at answering my own question.
If you hit the order button you will be advised that free worldwide shipping is offered. I think that 1. That means that it isn't manufactured in the US, and 2. It's fairly likely to be made in China.
Although the two examples of the exhaust note given are for German automobiles, anyone anywhere could claim that, and no self respecting German aftermarket automotive manufacturer would be caught dead marketing this thing.

So I think it's probably China. You know, the guys who gave us flammable children's pajamas. I think they want us to go deaf from excessive exhaust noise so that we won't be able to hear them invade.
