For those that want the info;
Welded Turbo #17656 3” in 3” out. Description: If you want something better than your slow-flowing OEM muffler, then these Thrush welded mufflers are just what you need. They feature 100 percent fully welded construction and an aluminized cover to resist corrosion...
So finally decided to have the Thrush muffler highway find/salvage installed to replace the stock as a precursor to my future SS full system. What I can report so far driving from the shop along the city streets is a much better solid sound and louder than stock and nice rumble at idle. Strong...
I’ve got no skin in the game, but I’ve read some really goofy posts that really makes me wonder how many goobers just buy the truck just for the looks and never even tugged on a wrench and changed their own oil on any vehicle?
I’m all in for informative and even questions for the unknown for...
Yes...prior to replacement I was getting intermittent spark arching and a noticeable ticking typical. I am getting a slight increase in MPG not sure if it’s only from the plug/coils replacement but from a combination of tweaking and squeezing be performance and fuel efficiency. When compared to...
Ditto...ditto...I was originally goin to just do the plugs, and was considering replacing the wires with Grannellis. While I pondered the option upgrade and read posts pro and con, I ended up ordering and replacing, the wires with OEM Denso wires and boot kits. Good thing I did, bc I ended up...
That looks like what happened, they must have changed the top half only. The top ones are easy...the lower ones are limiting factor for us yard monkeys. I didn’t find it too hard, just time consuming...my most difficult one was the lower one right side front one next to the shock tower.
I searched for a thread and only found sightings of when the new GEN 1s and then the new GEN 2s were coming out. And the threads were of privately owned ones. So my thread is of non privately owned ones.
So here are my sightings after owning my Raptor. 1st one was on my trip to go West to...
“UPDATE”
As some may know I replaced my truck’s spark pugs, wires and rebuilt the coil overs. I just came from another short round trip 1500 miles total. Not towing anything and a light load. Avg. speeds between 60-75 mph. From western NC to FL. No High mountains and temps from 35° to 70°. 93...
I pulled the trigger and found time to change out the original plugs and refurbished the ignition coil boots and resisters. Good thing I did the coil boots etc. All were corroded and one even boot split taking out (#7) which was leaking sparks to the block occasionally. I had confirmed this...
I second Zombie...try that up in Northern Maine in the winter as a full double wheeler is barreling down a rural road fully loaded with logs.
However, parking in town is always a challenge, especially in a big City.
Decided to take a short drive/road trip fully loaded. And stopped in at 5 Star yesterday to brainstorm power options!
pS. The stock springs really suck for load up and towing. I new this going in, but now I have to speed up my suspension upgrades.
I look at the Gen 1s being sold just like in RealEstate sales of unique homes, very few of if any comparables and the actual true value and “selling price” sale and the “true sold prices” are set by the buyers.
I thought it was just me...but I noticed the same thing with the Gen 2 crowd not as friendly...on the other hand, I get more attention from random people than I really want sometimes, whenever I stop to get gas or at the post office, etc...they especially notice my digital camo wrap job...HahAhaha.
