What did u do to your raptor today?

Inspired by @CoronaRaptor this weekend she got washed and even popped the hood for once to hose off a bit (no disassembly heh). Just realized it's her birthday this month, 10/12 build date! Tried out the torque wrench, works great. Started adding socket sizes to my torque chart for future...

Oh that sucks, was it slipping or not shifting or what?

What did u do to your raptor today?

You got dibs! But don't hold your breath heh, I called after a week of no movement, no update, and they said yeahhh it's lost. I used to borrow it from work but then I moved and finally invested in one, hopefully I can get it to click at 406ft-lbs!

What did u do to your raptor today?

Finally got my torque wrench from Jegs, first one got lost when Ida hit Tennessee, the second one got as far as Little Rock when FedEx lost it, Jegs customer support was awesome and sent a third via UPS and it made it:

Damn dude, are you running crude oil for washer fluid!?

    Loud fan

Yep, my '13 is the same, over 100° outside and it sounds like a hovercraft. Might be an aftermarket fan option but I didn't pursue it; you can A) move somewhere cooler, B) stop going to drive thrus (unless it's Starbucks, c'mon we're not savages), C) both. I chose C haha! Or just shut her...

    LCA Ball Joint

Here's hoping the balljoints, bushings and tie rods bring it back to normal!! You've pretty much replaced everything else, let us know!

What did u do to your raptor today?

It's well worth it!! Double checked and that's the right one, really impressed with Gearwrench, I keep a set of their ratchet wrenches in the truck too.

    LCA Ball Joint

Might be a stupid question but, over what kind of terrain? And possibly stupider still, have you tried using a LOT of throttle?? I used to race a Banshee so first heard of bump steer when compared to Honda 250R frontend geometry. I’m no engineering expert but understand it’s unwanted change of...

    LCA Ball Joint

Muy bien! Should make a big difference if they are worn, I did the same thing on mine although I couldn't find the LCA bushings and mine looked ok; lower balljoints, Motorcraft UCA's, Moog inner & Delco outer tie rod ends-again these had grease zerks but when I replace them I'll go with...

What did u do to your raptor today?

Truck stuff. Pulled boat out of the water, washed and serviced it (side note, that Gearwrench socket recommended in the 6.2L DIY spark plug thread is tiiiiits on a Mercury 50hp), put it back in the water.

    LCA Ball Joint

I tried the Moog and didn't have very good luck, YMMV but mine started developing play under 10k miles, grease zerk was nice but greasing only shut them up for about a week. I went back with Motorcraft and they have been perfect 20k miles later...

    AC drain line fix

@Ruger yes or thereabout, what's the thread ID of 3/4" FPT? I'm guessing actual is closer to 5/8" but that fitting I used will shove right on there...

    AC drain line fix

No it's not threaded, just a smooth plastic pipe sticking out (part of the bottom plastic casting for the heater box I think). Pretty sure when I looked into it a couple years ago there's a rubber more or less street ell with a hose clamp they use on some models. But with the head being so...

    AC drain line fix

@Ruger there is some contortion involved haha! Press fit, grunting and cursing the whole time, I don't think I could reach it at all from above. I agree on both counts but...the sum is greater than the parts haha! I wouldn't have anything else.

    AC drain line fix

In the first pic, not sure I think it's a zip tie. The second picture hopefully shows you the location better, the frame rail is along the bottom. Actually you will probably have better luck reaching up there and feeling for it, just aft of the cylinder head, because there is a cutout for it...

    AC drain line fix

It's still there! It is just a Lasco plastic fitting, 3/4" FPT x Hose barb (often used on center pivot sprinklers or other sprinkler systems), just shoved on the stub. Here's another shot from passenger side wheelwell: I had no idea they had an elbow on Gen 2's, just found something that...

    AC drain line fix

It's looking up-ish at the firewall so front to rear from below, the bolt head at the top of the pic is on the rear of the passenger-side cylinder head I think. From the factory the heater box drain sticks out of the firewall perfectly horizontal. I only noticed the issue on highway trips...

    AC drain line fix

I found a fitting from work that fit, I'll admit I haven't even looked to see if it's there two years later haha! Best I remember it was a 3/4" FPT x Hose barb 90°, and yeah reallllly hard to reach that little drain stub...oh hey I found a picture where I crammed my phone up there (the braided...

High mileage owners please check in

Much appreciated. Finding a disproportionate number of failures on rearmost cylinders right around the same mileage but just as many on random cylinders at random mileage (and likely many more that it hasn't happened to at all). Valve spring roulette for now heh.

High mileage owners please check in

So I'm creeping up on 189k miles and wondering if valve spring replacement as preventative might be a good idea before 190k-ish. A few searches online yields same issues with Super Duty 6.2's. May or may not take out the block but dayum, I'm pretty fond of it heh. Question for you guys, is it...
