Ok stupid question, is there an IAC? I vaguely remember having a Chevy once that I had to replace the Idle Air Controller chingus. Does your guy think it could be injectors or anything?
Ugh that damn condensate drain, I just saw a thread here the other day that Gen2 had a TSB to add a rubber...
Wish I had an easy answer @Gryphon313 and @red_mr2, here's hoping you find it. Both cases are so similar, if it was mine I would be suspecting the same exact things; fuel or ignition. Playing "Sling Blade" advocate for a moment (I'll forego asking if it's got gas in it heh), did either of you...
+1 on amber but one of the great things about BD is that you can get clear, and add amber lens covers. Best of both worlds. I know expensive but worth waiting for IMHO.
Awesome pics, much appreciated. Can't believe how green it is! TRX did ok aside from losing that rear bumper? Still trying to swing one of these someday, always good to hear what might break when I do ;)
Those bastards. That TSB should have extended back to at least '10, I had to fashion my own elbow on my '13 for the exact same symptoms/cause (I feel vindicated hahaha!). Although Gen 1's don't have that metal chingus around the drain pipe, the solution is the same; turn down and extend so...
One side note, not sure if they have changed but the SVC upper control arms they sell now explicitly say you have to run zero offset wheels, which is no biggie since that's what you've got, but keep that in mind if you try to stick a stock offset wheel on the front (like the spare-the risk is it...
Awesome. SVC adjustable bump setup with Fox bumps, SVC upper control arms, tie rods, Deaver springs, Fox 3.0's, all very good stuff and looks recent. Lucky bastard haha!
This thread is all you need, specifically how to use the bypass tube to set the floating piston in place, it's genius. I know pics are missing in the early (like, old) posts and it's a ton of pages long but I have a few pics on there and have the pdf's saved if anyone needs em.
They are cake...
Very nice! And with upgrades, regardless of the mileage it's just broken in heh, mine was just under that when I got it and didn't look nearly as good!
Will do, mostly curious about the ABS system and if it would even notice 6-piston calipers on the front. The BBK stuff is largely irrelevant as this setup will retain the stock (or stock size) rotor...
:hmmm2:
Can you elaborate please? I don't see brake fade changing, as I was under the impression (admittedly it might be incorrect) that like shock fade, fade was a function of heat and dissipation of the heat. Brake force (via more area of the caliper pistons through the pad and against the...
You definitely need to cycle the ABS when replacing the master cylinder, interested to find out if we can do it with Forscan or something. I figure if I wind up replacing the master cylinder I'll go ahead and replace the booster as well...
Hahaha nooo not yet! I'm not even sure yet how to identify if the master cylinder is a Hitachi (bad) or Bosch (good), I've been meaning to crawl around under the hood to see if there's any markings but haven't had a chance yet. And Google is useless in that regard...
Yeah that price tag, damn. Explains why I don't have one haha! But the diameter is likely the same since it has to thread into the trans housing itself. Doesn't say anything about thread pitch either, so yeah pulling one and going to Fastenal/Bearing Supply/Lowe's and matching it up would be...
What pan did you go with? This Mag Hytec says "Includes: Bolt Kit, Drain Plug"...and comes with filter if you get it direct from them. Aha! Installation instructions (from that site) says 6mmx25mm:
Not sure why 22 bolts and 23 washers...
Baling wire and bubble gum. Band-aid and super glue. I'd try to find a small rigid tube and a couple tiny hose clamps, separate the vacuum from the vent enough to torque 'em down. Or disconnect both sides and plug them and you'd pretty much be the same as RCV IWE eliminated, live axle...
