Any time I've had a leak there was a lot of tick associated with it, especially when I drove next to concrete borders in the road. Exhaust note is probably just the exhaust, but post a video with sound if you like.
Those flanges in your pic are my current problem children. I have to tighten them every month or two when I start to hear the leak. I hope you have better luck.
I do have the full Kooks dual with green cats setup. I wouldn't buy it again. It immediately started rusting - and I'm in Denver, not the rust belt. I put it on a couple years ago and it looks like garbage now - not that I care about the looks too much, but the mega rusted ass bolts are super...
That sir, is an exhaust leak. Probably a cracked passenger side manifold. I went through two stock exhaust manifolds on mine after I put my Roush on, and that's exactly what it sounded like - or as best as I can judge by video. I now have a full Kooks system.
Well, there's a question of relativity. Do mean versus stock? Here was my progression. I went from stock to an AFE cold air intake. That actually made it sound a bit throatier (stock exhaust at the time). Then I went to a supercharger and a Magnaflow cat back. That made a drastic...
I apologize for the tangent, but I'm in a similar no sound scenario. I have BCM issues, so I think that's it, but how do you do this speaker test? First I have heard of it.
It's your door actuator. I've had to replace two, and it looks like one more is occasionally doing it now. It's not a tough job to pull off in your driveway, but it's definitely the door actuator. My only door that hasn't done this is my driver door.
I forget exactly - I wound up having my cousin do it. However I did get a couple quotes first and they were in that range. It's a lot of work to put a full system on one of these.
Holy crap you got robbed! I had to replace mine, paid something like $300ish online for the camera and had it done in 10 minutes in my driveway. $240 in labor?!?! I can't even see close to that. True about the name plate, unless it's a '13 or '14 if I recall. I used the later model plate to...
Wait. The recall is a software only thing, not a leadframe replacement. How'd you get them to do this?
Regarding tuning, my JDM tune already took care of this, so I am not taking mine in for the recall. However, I DID experience the sudden drop to first while flat towing on the freeway long...
Are you saying you are struggling to get the axle shaft pushed in all the way? They can be a real pain, you really gotta hit it with your purse, but it'll go in. They can be a pain to pull out too.
Mine are finally peeling a bit on the bottom. At some point I'll probably clean them up and Raptor line them. I think that should hold up for a long time.
Why are you filling them? I have a full nitrogen setup for my rock crawler shocks. I had schrader valves installed on my shocks so I CAN fill them, but in 10 years (Gen 1) I have never needed to. I get the shocks rebuilt every couple years, so they do get refilled then, and only then. The...
MOST DANGEROUS?!?!!? IN COLORADO!? Are you friggen KIDDING ME?! Maybe most dangerous for just shy of stock overlander rigs like that. That's comical. I don't see what's scary about it. Don't drive off the edge. You'll be fine.
I've never heard of it being open anywhere even remotely close to May. More like August, July if you are lucky. Yes, snowfall is low so far... but not THAT low.
I'm taking my Jeep on it this year, but the Raptor will hang back. COULD you do it? Yeah, but I don't want to.
Newbies are constantly doing stupid stuff on Black Bear. A Bronco rolled down it last summer. Countless Jeeps have rolled down it. Be aware, it is typically one of the last trails in CO to open due to snow. With the lack of snowfall so far this year, who knows when it'll open.
Yeah, I already had a big enough Summit order for free shipping there, so a hair cheaper. Horns work great. Wife said "I thought this didn't have an air horn anymore?" (Jeep used to, but I had to pull it off for a bit due to space for another project). Horn was loud enough she thought it was...
As mentioned above, I put these on my Jeep since the stock horn was crapping out: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/pia-85115
They're pretty loud.
I have a train horn on the Raptor, but I'll probably replace the stock horns soon with these as well. I have my train horn selectable for when I...
That's a very small winch for a Raptor. You want about double that. General rule is a winch that is around double the weight of your vehicle. That's even small for a Jeep. I run a 12K on my truck (8K on my Jeep TJ).
However, to answer your question, your receiver hitch will have no...
I've had no problems with mine - and it doubles as a tow pig in the Rocky mountains at near max towing capacity. I've upgraded a number of things to deal with heat on hard uphill pulls, but it's been solid. As stated above, carry a spare belt. Also carry a spare Roush pulley - it's not a...
