Do you work for Ford or are an employee? I ask because you defend this brand relentlessly. I had a Subaru Forrester XT with the turbo and it would go through water up to its windows. I would say with a lite truck tire installed it could go places a Raptor could not. I do not rock crawl but these...
It sucks but the only parts of the F150 frame that are repairable are the rear box sections which can be cut out and re-welded and replaced. The font frame is not from my knowledge repairable. They can pull and pull on these frames and they won't move they are the reasons people buy F150.
I too was a Gen 1 homer until Ford killed the SVT brand and came up with Ford Performance. The 6.2 liter motor is a fine motor, and no one will question that. However, the Gen 1 is at this point a 10+ year design based off an older generation of the F150. Did it sound better, sure but in every...
I am wondering if the Gen 1 is faster than the Gen 2?
I am wondering if my STI will walk off and leave my Gen 2?
I know my STI would walk off from my Gen 1 under full load.
I believe that all the zero to sixty times for the most part are horse pukie.
I know you didn't compare a subaru stereo setup to fords? I have the Harmon Karden setup and it does sound better than the B and O Buf the B and O is not bad it just all sounds the same regardless of level.
My Gen 1 roof broke in place in closed the position so it never leaked. However, it seems to me that the seal Ford uses is not the best and must be lubed or if it becomes too dry then it can lead to leaks
Mine was produced in August of 2018 which is kind of late for a 2018 but I guess not unheard of. Usually they are a model year refresh and anything made after the middle of the year is a 1/2 model year. Just unusual but not unheard of I guess.
I have a late production oct 2018 Rqptor sold as a 2018, however I noticed some late 18s are actually 2019 model years, I am confused as to what ford did to differentiate a 2018 model year truck from a 2019 when they could have been made in the same month. For example, October or November
Well Subaru does go back and forth a lot and it drives me crazy. They will put the rear seat cup holder/ arm rests in various years i.e. my 08 had them in the hatch but my 16 Sedan does not. They also for some reason to get more engine sound in the cockpit routed the air intake into the front...
Yeah official Ford Performance products should NOT void the warranty. I plan to keep mine stock but it shouldn't void the warranty if you add a FPP exhaust to your truck. I have to say the stock exhaust on these trucks sound bad very bad.
You are right in a DOHC flat four setup there is definitely 4 cams, 2 head gaskets, and a very large serpentine timing belt too. Again, under normal conditions with premium fuel, synthetic oil changes, and normal maintenance the engine will last 100s of thousand of miles with no problem. I have...
That is sick if you lived closer, I have some standyne fuel treatment and OEM Motorcraft DEF fluid that you could have. I had a bunch of it when I traded my old F150 baby stroke off. Looks good and there is a difference once you get into the F250 F350 and I love the F650 but those are almost...
The EJ is used in ultralights and helicopters and is derived from the Subaru Aero so technically they are both boxers. Funny that both Mitsubishi and Subaru both trace their manufacturing roots back to the P zero the same WWII plane that without the introduction of the P51, then the war could...
The Fa200

https://www.subaru.co.jp/en/fa200/
does that answer your question?and I never said it had turbo chargers or was an EJ -- the boxer design of the EJ has its roots back to this engine.
Japanese have always been able to take weird...
Yep does TJ even own a Raptor? And Badger tits what value does he add.
My vette smokes these rice burners blah blah, lol
And TJ didn't know enough to understand fuji heavy industries owns subaru with a split in development off the orginal airplane industries. To each their own I am an...
Yep and he would probably call the Rx7 rotary engine a poor design as well. It being the only Japanese car to win the 24 hours of Lemans
The EJ motor from Subaru has also been used in Japan trainer aircraft, and helicopter motors it is a good engine. You can not always believe internet rumors...
Well since we have POPO hijacked this thread all up, why not explain it to you. The STI is a separate model from the Impreza while it was based upon the original Impreza line up it dropped the name with this model introduction. The RS is a Focus like the EVO is a Lancer both of which are based...
The OP will lose money on trade if he lets it go over 100k miles and I do not think that is in debate. My state allows full tax credit for private sales up to 60 days from the date of sale. If you make an extra 5-6 grand on a truck then so be it you get that tax credit towards the new purchase...
