Oh no I’m not saying it’s the manufactures problems at all, I stated somewhere in this thread that if they determine that it was because of my aftermarket bumper install that the truck was locking up, cool understood completely, but it’s difficult for me to believe that is the cause of the...
Going to the shop Friday to get a larger diagnosis for a while. Difficult to diagnose anything until they see the fault happen while operating the vehicle
Speaking about timing, I think I posted this elsewhere in the thread, but people seem to be going on about this ACC relocation portion so I wanted to shine some light on this.
Per ADDs directions, the adaptive cruise control module should go basically right on the edge of the grill bolted in...
so what you’re saying is that the plastic fins that are in place still currently are not being read positionally then? If when the truck starts up and the fins still currently in place go through their routine and constantly SnapBack, that would then mean that the computer completely ignored the...
I am having exactly 0 ACC or safety feature issues. The issues are with the truck shutting down completely or the gauge cluster resetting and blank Screening for no reason. No warnings, no CEL’s, no nothing to indicate that anything I have done (which in my opinion is very minimal, and have been...
I’m not saying it is, but for a modification that has been hundreds of times to these trucks with no issues, I highly doubt it is the bumper and moving an ACC module that is causing all of this.
Yeah it did, which sucks, I know I technically did it to myself, but at the same time, wouldn't ford, or the dealer, need to PROVE with like evidence that the issues were caused by the bumper and whatever else? Not certain how it works, just throwing ideas out there to keep the convo going.
Yeah that is true, but it seems like every year a new issue comes out with these trucks. It isn't my first rodeo with modding vehicles, and trucks in general, just weird to me that a bumper and moving the location of a part would cause so many issues.
Yeah I planned on doing that tomorrow when I get home from work and see what happens. Wont take super long now that I know the tear down portion, just sucks that I have to resort to this after seeing people with their aftermarket bumpers not have any issues.
that's not what I'm saying, the bigger issue that I am having here is that, yes, I put an aftermarket bumper on it, TONs of people have and they have had no issues whatsoever. I have been talking to another GEN 3 owner that put an ADD bumper on, relocated the ACC to the same place that I did and...
I don’t think there would be anything wrong with it, and I was considering it, but at the time of instal I was going off of what ADD stated to ensure a proper tested install, but after talking to other members they said when putting on aftermarket bumpers they just took the fins off all together.
Because it seems like a very obvious thing, that’s why. I’m not going to cut wires and then go “**** I didn’t know that was gonna happen” but taking off a piece of plastic that is not electrically tied into anything at all isn’t something 99% of people would think “this is going to mess it all...
Yeah the shutdown issue is what I am most concerned with. I’m sure they will be able to fix the tailgate issue, and probably tell me I ****** something up with the active vents, but the shutdown issue is something in a whole other category by itself. I know there is an after market bumper and...
If you unplug a fog light, you are correct that it will show that there is something missing, but if that is the case how have so many others been able to run ADD bumpers, without factory fogs plugged up and then moving their new lights and light bars to the AUX switches
Makes sense. I don’t think this is a motor issue or electrical issue, but what you said makes the most logical sense. I was going to take a look at it, but I don’t see a point. The dealer can diagnose and tell me if I made a mistake or not I’m fine with that if that is the case.
That’s something that I have debated. Not sure yet. I want to love this truck, I do, it’s my dream truck, but these issues have been killing my mood for one.
As the title says, I have opened a buyback case on my GEN 3. 8,000 miles on it, customer order original owner. Below I have outlined the issues that I have been having, but I wanted to see if anyone could answer one question for me.
The dealer I bought it from, who will be taking it on Friday...
