Installing an ICOM 5021 I got from Trepal. Instead of direct wiring to battery, I was thinking of using one of my aux switches. That way it could not be left on by accident and leave me stranded out in the middle of nowhere. Would this be good enough?

My 13 has screwed up a couple times. After backing up the radio does not work. You can see the volume level go up and down, but no noise. If I turn the radio off then on, its works again.

In an offroad vehicle you want good reliable HP and Torque. When you push the pedal down on a big V-8 you know exactly what your getting every time. A turbo motor varies wildly with load and rpm and while it would be fun on fast stuff, you would not want it on jumps and slower rock crawling...
