The Toyota will most likely win hands down on fuel mileage. 20K per year with a Raptor will be expensive at the pump.
Caveat: I just looked up fuel economy for the TRD and it's not going to be any better than the Raptor, so please ignore my comment above.
The lugs on my 2019 with bead lock wheels are chrome. Prior years might be different. I don't think it makes any difference, just run what you like best.

The texture of snow depends on the temperature - it doesn't matter where you're at. Warmer temps you get heavy, wet snow. Frigid temps and you get dry, powder that blows in the wind and creates havoc on the roads. Either way, you need good tires, some skill and some luck. The Raptor certainly...
Don't air down for snow - makes the tire float. Tall, narrow tires are best for snow because they can cut down through the snow to the pavement surface. What works for sand is wrong for snow.
I'm traveling to Asheville, NC next week, 1200 mile round trip, with my new Raptor and I'd like to know what to check before I leave. I've read the recall for positive battery cable/BMS/PDB joint recently issued by Ford and I've looked at my connections. They all seem to be tight and the...
The super crew will most likely have the highest resale value and you can put a lot of stuff in the back with the seats folded up. The 36 gallon tank is also big on my list of important features. However, I like both - it's your truck get what's best for you!
It takes 91 or higher octane to get the advertised 450 HP at the crank. My guess is that you'll lose 40 to 50 HP on 87 octane. I wouldn't quibble over $0.30 /gallon difference in price with a truck like this.
It went well. I used a creeper - truck wheels on the ground. There's enough clearance to allow a normal sized person to slide under the truck and reach just about anywhere. The Fluid Film sprayed well and covered everything within reach. I lowered the spare tire so I could coat that portion...
Luckily, the frame isn't visible when just standing and looking at the truck so the type of coating used isn't much of a concern. I have four cans of Fluid Film I bought yesterday and it's going on today - this being about the last good day we'll have here for a while. The stuff gets good...
OK, thank you for your insight. I'm planning on spraying the frame with Fluid Film, it gets good reviews, and protect it as well as possible. I'm not worried about the frame rusting through - probably won't keep the truck long enough for that to be a problem, but I do want to keep it looking...
It's not a Shelby but it's not your father's Oldsmobile either.

My Raptor is new, never been through a northern winter yet, and I was wondering how well the frame resists rust through the first winter. Ford says the frames are coated inside and out for protection against the elements and that gives me some assurance it will hold up well for a number of...
I'm guessing, just from what I've read on other forums for the past five years or so, that any tune is going to void the warranty and yes - they'll probably find you've had one. Warranty repairs are a major expense for auto makers and all of them are taking steps to ensure they only make those...
The liners came with one screw per side (total of two) which are sufficient. The existing fasteners on the wheel flares are reused for the installation. The liners fit snugly and they won't be going anywhere once installed. I don't have pictures of the holes I drilled and enlarged but they...
That's a first for me, I've never heard a sound like that from any other vehicle that I've seen. Please check back with the actual cause of the problem and what the fix was. Too many post problems and then never report back on the fix. All the best!
I have the latest Husky wheel well liners on my 19 Raptor and they have the cutouts for the shocks. I had to drill one hole in each of the Husky liners, one per side, because they were missing. I also enlarged one hole per side in the liners to get them to line up with existing hold in the...
What happens when I engage 4 wheel auto? I can feel the front hubs lock into position but what else changes? Does the transmission change algorithms such as keeping it in lower gears longer? I tried this mode yesterday in the rain and it felt like more was happening than just locking the...
I've had the Raptor exactly three weeks now and have almost 900 miles on the odometer. I've given it some gas a few times along the way just to see how it responded but never really gave it full throttle until today. Today, I figured it was pretty well broken in and decided to see what it...
A sway bar is a simple device that rarely causes any problems once it's been correctly installed. I put the Hellwig rear bar on my 19 Raptor about a week ago and it definitely improves handling in corners and on curves. I read another post about a similar install and the OP mentioned that he...
Well, most of have done it or very nearly done it, so we feel you pain. To answer your question, I think having a body shop look at it would be the best option for dollar amount of damage. Guesses you get here on the forum won't be the most reliable. Good luck with it.
