Let me start by saying thank you for well wishes. they are appreciated.
I would like to point some things that I felt were obvious but perhaps you missed. While my post was in NO way meant to be a joke, I feel as though I am having to explain a joke to someone and when that happens the...
I am posting more than usual and making a lot of spelling and grammar mistakes because I just got of surgery 21 hours ago and am off work and heavily medicated .
So with that said , to the guy who pointed it out, and sarcastically I might add, go fock yourself ...oh and not that I have much...
I don't drive in the snow very often, but have in flagstaff a few times. how come you more experienced guys haven't mention whether to keep the rear diff. locked.
What's the verdict on that ? When drive on icey roads I use it. I have heard the theory that in turn it can help break the tires...
I had a local shop do it. Foddrill Motorsports. So without shipping it's pretty inexpensive, around 75.00 per shock if I remember right.
Even if you include shipping it is still inexpensive when you consider new off road shocks, whether the stock Fox or aftermarket.
You can spend 50.00...
On my last Raptor, when I would stop with firm braking, I would get a thud or a knock when the back of the truck came up. Apparently that one was completely blown and providing zero dampening.
I would imagine you could also see oil , although mine wasn't obvious like you would think.
I...
That's a great theory . The manager of Foddrill Motor sports has a raptor . I will ask him what he thinks if the idea and if it would be something we should do.
Obviously a local place is best, but if you send them out , I use Foddrill Motor sports in Peoria Az. They are a Fox distributor , not just a dealer and rebuilt mine on my first Raptor and this one . They will also add Schrader valves so you can refill the shocks and check pressure easier . I...
I had paddles for my first raptor , it was a 5.4 and not enough power to make a difference .
This one with a 6.2 seems to do fine in glamis with the stock tires at 13 psi. I don't really dune enough to deal with the hassle of bringing and changing to paddles.
Only time I really take it in...
Maybe some more info for the guys that don't know , but there are companies who have rental trailers at Pismo. I took my own one year and the saltwater was brutal on it so a rental is a great way to go. They will deliver and pick up for you right on the beach.
Nothing like hearing the tide...
I'm 90 percent certain I my fronts have Schrader valves after the last rebuild. I Will check, but right now it's at the dealer for a hard 1 to 2 shift . Tim
I'm going to go ahead and disagree to some extent with a lot of the replies. 8 K is not a great amount of weight for an f150 based platform . The brakes are no different on an F150 rated from 9 to 11 k towing so as long as you have a brake controller I don't see that being an issue. As wearing...
Hole in the piston is almost certainly from running lean. I couldn't picture outside temp or fluids causing tbhis. I would guess maybe some mechanical issue related to fuel, maybe a bad injector ? I bet when you see that piston you will find the side of piston melted away.
I had a turbo charged motor the same thing happened to and I had lost a piston. The side of it melted away . I was running too much boost so I can't imagine how that happened with the modest boost pressure they run in the roush kit.
I will be interested to see what it is and what happened ...
I had the same issue and the day they were going to tear into the valve train a tech noticed it was a spark plug wire also ! It is a very loud tick also you would think it was a valve noise . And no code or noticeable loss in power. Tim
I plan on being there for Halloween but I don't think my sand car motor will be done. I have a feeling i will be a spectator . I'm really hoping the can am turbo is dealers soon or that Polaris releases a turbo soon. I need a back up ! Tim
I should add that between both coolers and fittings , hose etc. I have less than $150.00 and less than two hours total, so a great value all around. Tim
I wanted to post this from my computer , but work is crazy so I will make it short from my phone..
I got a chance to test out the the two new coolers I installed, the slightly larger stock and the finned heat exchanger type I previously posted.
I towed my sandcar from Phoenix to rancho...
