Hi everyone,
I’m sorry if this has been posted previously. If it has, I’ll be happy to take down and look at initial thread(s).
Long story-short, got my new to me Raptor(62,157+/-) had it for ten days and tranny went out. Installed new transmission at Ford.
When I originally purchased the...
Good afternoon everyone,
I’m sorry for the delay in response/communication. I’ve been back and forth from the desert due to work. But now that everything is coming back to the valley. It’s mellowing out.
I wanted to update everyone who’s been supporting. After back and forth, really no avail...
Thank you and no worries at all. Everyone here, including yourself have been beyond helpful in this journey I’ve had and it’s definitely reassuring having a community like this to assist with anything they offer. And for that I am grateful to be joining a forum like this.
I am considering...
I believe I do have some recollection of that previously being mentioned. Someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but by flushing the transmission, it causes all shavings/particles to get pushed back of the trans and causing failure shortly after x time/miles.
I have heard of mechanics(non-dealer)...
I agree and believe it’s the best policy. I couldn’t be happier with the response and the way you represent and carry yourself.
Though I jokingly acknowledged the idea, I wouldn’t think to follow with such a foul movement. And for joking, I do send my apologies.
In the end, we’ll eventually...
Thank you richnot,
I saw that transmission and actually contacted the seller the other day. As for FTO, who/what is that?(I’m sorry for the question, not familiar with the acronym)
Good afternoon KAH24,
Thank you for your response.
I agree with your ethic and ethical response.
To be clear and for the record - It was never the intention to go the route of falsely claiming through the extended warranty company and hope for the best(reopening or new claim on different ext...
I'm sorry to hear about your trans but happy it got resolved. I personally don't know when the last or if it was ever serviced. I haven't gone through the Carfax the dealership provided to see. But I would like to know more of the proper/certain way to do it, once it does come up for needed service.
Will do, as far as mine go. Torque converter is out with the pumps. Transfer case is still good I believe, but I have a call to Ford this evening to get a better run down description doc from them. Thankyou
Thank you, I did see that one as well. Which is a pretty good deal, and that's exactly what I was thinking, getting used possibly. I'll go ahead and give the AZ dealer a call as well, I just went on their website to get their parts dept number.
How your 1st Gen doing?
Yeah, that’d be great and highly appreciated. I’m willing to take a drive up there if it all works out. I can send you a personal message if you’d like, or feel more comfortable sharing his contact that way. Thank you for the help.
I agree, I think whom ever owned it prior dropped it right at or after warranty expired. oh man, sorry to hear, similar to my issue?
I’m in Monterey/San Luis area.
It's what I have been thinking was well.. No signs of a tune ever installed, to the best of my knowledge.
The dealership did provide a quote for the transmission at $8,800. OTD. I did see and feel shavings in the transmission housing on the residual oil, as for the internal components - I...
Unfortunately not a baller, would be nice. I'm agreeing, warranty not wanting to pay out. I will definitely speak with a shop who's creditable and add the 37s on as well. I appreciate the insight. As for the pictures, want me to post them here?
Thank you.
GordoJay, I completely hear you and agree. Unfortunate that I bought sight-unseen, though I still like my Raptor. Just sucks not being able to utilize it. If I may ask you, would you rather rebuild or replace the transmission, if replace, new/reman or used? Though used can be a gamble. Thank you.
Thank you for your response Badgertits. Well sell price wasn’t that bad, but add tax/transportation and it’s gone up. It currently holds 63,500. Give or take a few miles.
I’ll definitely look into a rebuild kit, and look for a reputable shop who has knowledge on these.
as for the other...
Good morning everyone (CA time),
A bit if a fiasco, I purchased a used 2017 Ford Raptor out of Texas and delivered to me to California.
Within 15 minutes of ownership, smelled like burning oil and ofd knock. Told the sales rep of issue(unfortunately it’s a As-IS sale. I know).
I let him know...
