You should also at least take a look at the Geisers. They’re progressive whereas I believe the Eibachs are linear. You also want to consider the fact that unless the Eibachs are somehow softer than stock, at ride height you’ll be extending the shock past where the engineers designed it to...
If anyone is interested, I revisited some of the Icon information on their leaves, and the overall spring rate of their leaves is actually lower than stock as shipped from icon, so they should in no way “feel stiffer”. They include an extra leaf that can be added to then raise the spring rate.
The firmness is decided by the thickness, length, and degree of bend of each leaf. There’s honestly no objective way to test it, other than by trying both and deciding which ones feel better to you.
“Stiffer” is extremely misleading. Because the icon and deavers both have more leaves than stock, they are more compliant and more progressive. Off-road, they have the net effect of actually feeling SOFTER over big bumps because they let the shock do what it’s supposed to. With my stock springs...
Yes, they absolutely do require more frequent rebuilds. Call King and they will give you the same answer that their pure race shocks require more frequent seal changes than their performance shocks, simply because of the seal differences.
Fox has now gone to their factory (race) series shocks...
The stock fox shocks are valved to perform best at mid perch. Ford set the stock shocks to low perch from factory to meet federal pedestrian impact height regulations. Also, alignment cams don’t do anything but assist in keeping your alignment over time, and providing a greater distribution of...
The SPC kit, or any “alignment kit” for that matter, doesn’t add any additional alignment capability. All it does is add alignment cams to prevent your alignment being thrown off from vibration and impacts. If you want to add extra alignment capability you need adjustable upper control arms.
There is no “one is better”, as the weight and weight distribution plus driving usage of every single truck is different. You’ll have to take as much information as you can and use that to infer what you think will be the best for you. The icons have 8 leaves, and the Deavers have 11, although...
I don’t like to get into the game of he said she said about different brands, but I’ve had a much much better customer service experience speaking with RPG. I bought the SVC rack because I found one used, but I called RPG before making the decision and their engineer was more than happy to talk...
I was having pump noise when turning the wheels when completely stopped and at low speeds and had fluid that smelled badly burnt. It now makes no noise and much of the vibration is gone, but I still get some random and slight vibration when turning. I was told that the higher fluid capacity of...
I’ve been having issues with burnt fluid and some pump noise. I’ve flushed the fluid completely but I’m assuming this will help alleviate the lingering symptoms?
To be completely honest though, I bought an SVC front bumper and was not at all impressed with the quality. I have their bypass rack and it’s constructed extremely well, but I ended up selling the bumper as the tubing was very thin, lightweight, and not even capped on the ends.
They’re a consumable part. Their primary function is reducing damage to other vehicles in a 5-10 mph parking lot accident which is now a government regulation. They’re made to deform and then be replaced.
There is some elaboration needed.
Most of the aftermarket leaf springs (excluding leaf packs meant for towing) will actually ride SOFTER than stock when unloaded or carrying a couple hundred pounds because there are more leaves than stock and the leaves at the beginning of the pack are...
