Makes sense honestly I’m happy with the decision as for an off-road vehicle the idea of a sunroof made no sense to me. I guess I just ruled out so many screws cause of the sunroof that I was happy I found a scab without one I never even thought to see if they still put them in or not.
Thanks for all the replies. I ended up deciding to hold out for a scab and luckily found an leadfoot 802a with only 5k miles in Georgia for a decent price so I am flying down there and road tripping it home this weekend. Will be sure to post some picks when I get it. Super excited to find a scab...
The scab will always be the “original raptor”. Off-road the smaller size is definitely helpful and the better break over angle can keep you from having some teeth clenching sounds come out from under your truck. Arguably the scab also looks better. If it’s not your thing that’s fine but to say...
I agree but I think that trucks in general are on a different basis for handling especially off-road oriented trucks. I mean there have been maybe two trucks ever that had arguably “good” handling in the grand scheme of things (ram srt 10 and the lowered & supercharged Tacoma (forget the name))...
I did not realize the reference on how it drives would cause such a stir lol. I’ve driven my fair share of sports and pony cars to say it is not a sports car. That being said for a truck the raptors really do drive like one! They handle surprisingly well ripping through back roads and feel very...
For context my 2019 scab 801a was totaled and so I am now in the process of trying to find a new truck. I can’t find any scabs for sale for a decent price(out of principle I refuse to pay over sticker for any truck let alone a used one). This leaves me with the option of going with a screw...
The resale value is a good point. And they actually paid out more than I paid for it by a few thousand, so I drove the truck for literally free for 30k miles and absolutely no complaints there.
I’ve debated the new f150- probably the only way I’m going to do it is with plans to supercharge it(have a little too much Ricky Bobby in me). Just don’t know if I want to void the warranty on a mew truck and feel like I would be underwhelmed with a stick 3.5 or 5.0.
Yeah I got to drive a new 6.7 and no doubt they spin the tires like crazy. It probably is more truck than I need(the 6.7 that is) but you hit the nail on the head with limited availability for raptors and no scabs. I just found out my truck was totaled today so I have a little bit of time to...
Also should say I only do very light towing. No real need for the superduty just enjoy how they look and 1050 lb/ft of torque sounds like a blast. Raptor fit my utility needs very nicely. No high speed off roading(east coast) but do get off the beaten path every once in a while.
Backstory- I had a 19 raptor scab 801a which was just totaled and trying to figure out what to get next. I would love another scab raptor but I can’t seem to find a scab let along one at a decent price which leaves me with the dilemma of trying to find a screw that isn’t gonna cost me an arm and...
His Toyota Avalon was pretty destroyed. Damage from the front bumper down to the back doors with the whole front being mangled.
My truck is a 2019 SCAB 801a which I loved. Had 29,xxx miles on it and I got it January 2019. I hadn’t gotten around doing a ton to it because it was still under...
Other driver just had minor injuries, his airbags deployed so the usual cuts and lacerations that come with that but nothing serious at least on the surface. Luckily for both of us I suppose he glanced forward and away.
Buying it back isn’t a bad option issue is just getting something to drive...
In North Carolina right now, cab flexed a good bit- broke rear glass, passenger door was difficult to open initially (although after being opened and closed a few times progressively became more okay). The adjuster looks at it tomorrow so hopefully I will know by Tuesday what they say. Trying to...
Car that hit me was a Toyota Avalon, hit the front tire then kind of slid up under it. Only thing I can figure was that it was going fast enough it literally pushed my truck up and away rather than just going straight into it. Also helped that I was only going ~5mph in a direction perpendicular...
I’ve pretty much come to the same conclusion that it depends on whether or not the frame is bent. The front core seemed bent from the little but I got to get under it but obviously wasn’t able to see about the frame or anything. Any ideas on what would cause the back glass to shatter from a...
Hey y’all, yesterday I was in an accident. Some old man ran a red light running about 55/60 mph and hit the front end of my truck as I was turning left. No airbags deployed in my truck (his did), and luckily no major injuries on either end. Truck was moved about 20/25ft from where impact...
